Within easy walking distance of the City Centre and Transport museum, this is somewhere everyone should visit just to say they have been. It is what it is, the ruins of the cathedral bombed during WW2 but it is a place to remember and contemplate, a very peaceful place.

I notice the front desk for the cathedral has attracted criticism before. When asked a factual question as to why the cathedral was bombed the lady in attendance could only muster a feeble explanation that Hitler wanted to strike at the "heart of England". An elderly lady at the nave was far more helpful. Both the old and new cathedrals are definitely worth visiting.

£8 seemed a bit steep to visit a cathedral but having joined one of the guided tours and looked around for several hours I feel that this was money well spent.

You just don't see the full scope of the building from the front door and the story of the creation of the large tapestry is fascinating - especially when you are close enough to see the artefacts that resulted from the arduous process of signing of the tapestry design.

Coventry Cathedral is an amazing place to visit. It combines the old bombed Cathedral with the new beautiful stained glass windows and tapestry in the new Cathedral. Well worth a visit.

I never get tired of visiting Coventry Cathedral. Not only does it have historical importance and value, it's beautiful as well. Make sure you climb to the top of the tower too (the entrance is in the gift shop). It's a great workout and when you reach the top you're rewarded with a great view!:-)
