It is awesome to see the old and new cathedrals which are quite close together so they can be contrasted quite easily, it makes you realise the devastation that was caused in Coventry by the bombings. You have to pay to go into the new cathedral but it is quite magnificent

“Contrast”

It was quite sad to see the ruins of the old cathedral devastated in WW2.The "new" cathedral has a charm of its own in stark contrast to the old.

“old cathedral or new?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Staying in coventry I wanted to visit the remains of the old cathedral, being interesting in history and having read a lot about the blitz i really wanted to see this site, i was confused when researching it that you seemed to have to pay to get in, but this is actually just the new cathedral, and i had no interest in going there. The old remains are free, there is a 'blitz experience' on site in the old crypt, which you had to pay a fee for, but if you just want to have a look around all is good. an amazing site, and great they have left it as a monument. glad I finally got to see it. On a par with the Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church in Berlin as a reminder of the horrors that civilians in WW2 had to go thru.

“A landmark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

It is an interesting area, one of the few remained in Coventry after the WWII bombing. Now there is a new one just in front of it, but the skeleton of the old one is impressive.
