If you like cars and have a couple of hours to kill near Coventry, then take a trip to the Transport Museum. It’s free, what’s not to like about that!
Being in the city centre parking could possibly be an issue for some, which was my main worry when travelling from Worcester. It’s not a million miles away, but even so, not being able to park when arriving would drop the anchor on our day out. We parked in the Belgrade Plaza multi-storey and walked a few minutes. For a Saturday, parking in the Belgrade was a breeze with plenty of free spaces. The entrance to the car park is off the main ring road (A4053). Not knowing that I headed to a side street, which was a dead end right behind the car park!
We found the museum pretty interesting, and they had some amazing old Rovers. Nothing special to most people I guess, but my dad used to work at Rover, so means a little more to me. They have a couple of old buses, some tractors, a good selection of Jags and loads of other old cars which I couldn’t even begin to remember the names of. They also have a display of old motorbikes AND pushbikes – quite a few of them in fact.
It didn’t take us long to walk around, mainly because we read very little of the information, and cars are not that interesting to most girls, so I didn’t want to bore my girlfriend for too long :D
