It was my misfortune to be booked in here by our corporate booking service as everywhere else i normally use near Coventry were full. My suspicions were raised as I saw the peeling paint on the entrance facade of this testament to 1960s concrete. The offer of three course dinner for £9.95 also rang alarm bells. My room had a smell of fresh paint albeit some weeks ago and hastily slapped on over the blemishes and dings from previous rough treatment.
This is no more than a stop over for the coach tours of middle england for the aged and unfortunate. I think the mattress was reasonably new as it was really firm. However this place is seriously run down, in desperate need of an injection of capital. The staff I encountered were polite enough. I did not eat here and had only the quickest of drinks, I would have had a night cap later had the bar been open beyond 11 pm, but it was not.More
