Stayed 27th 30th dec

Where do I start? Booked with travel style said we was going to Torquay had confirmation via emails when booked, to get a letter week before sayin we off to coventry.. Thought fair enough, read reviews thought why we being punished? But hey gave it a go! Arrived to a multistory carpark with windows lol looked horrid from outside, nothing around you nothing at all, a main fast road, no shops no nothing.

Booked in quickly, we was on 8th floor got to our room.. Soon as we opens the door we got hit by an icy cold breeze room was in its minuses at least! Smelt like cigarets, damp, windows covered in mould, net curtains didn't fit the windows huge gap, different coloured curtains very old fashioned needs ripping out and re doing. It really is revolting.

Bathroom.. Mould on bath, towel rail rusty, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, the air vent in bathroom had it's own life form growing in it. Filth.

Food.. Haha! A joke.. Had salad first night and was ill,
Main meals consists of carverys is not the best, Gravy is discusting, puddings where cheesecakes and fruit cocktail out a tin!

Breakfast. This was actually ok. But please check your plates they still have food splattered on them from god knows when, forks and knifes still had food trapped in them :/

Bar area.. Cold cold cold! Lifeless! And the bar man was caught by myself popping/squeezing his spots in the mirror behind him and serving people. Diabolical!

The Geordie excursion driver!! Fantastic! If it wasn't for him myself a family would have gone crazy. On the way to the luxury hotel haha! We went to leamington spa, 2nd day Stratford and 3rd Cotswolds, on way home we went to a garden centre and then back to hopwood to change coach back home. He made our holiday sane!!

If your looking into booking this hotel for over night stay if your plane is delayed then fair doos, christmas holiday break.. What a joke! I would give this hotel half a star for staff and half for breakfast,

My wife and I stayed in the hotel over Christmas, we wanted a nice relaxing break but got the complete opposite! The hotel had no heating and when we requested it we got a small plug in heater! there was no hot water and the bed covers were far to thin for winter! We didn't expect all our meals to be a buffet...never mind Christmas dinner!! The only course that got brought to our table was pudding on Christmas dinner which would have been better of left in the kitchen!

We stayed here for one night as part of a National Holidays weekend. Parts of the hotel are tired and in need of a refurb but was incredibly clean and the beds were really comfortable. The food was tasty and plentiful. Our evening meal was a carvery with a choice of freshly carved turkey and/or gammon. The restaurant staff were efficient but non intrusive and did an amazing job considering how many people were staying in the hotel that evening.. Each coach was given a meal time and even though there were several coach parties staying that evening we didn't feel rushed. The same went for breakfast the next morning. Excellent food and service.

Although there were obvious decorative faults these were purely cosmetic and considering how little we paid I'm amazed that it was as nice as it was.
