“mould, leaking and dirt.”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

On our arrival the room we were booked into had not been cleaned. As we were on the top floor we had to return down 2 flights of stairs (no lift) to ask for another. We were given the room next door, which on first impression seemed ok.
On closer inspection we found a large areas of mould and damp on the walls and ceilings, and the carpet was extremely dirty.
We also had the added 'bonus' of a water feature in our bathroom: the overflow hole in the bath was continuous running. We tried turning the taps and putting on the shower, but nothing worked. The water only stopped pouring out of the bath when the toilet was flushed.
On the plus side, the rooms were very warm (maybe even too warm), the bedding and towels were clean and the staff were polite.
Glad we only stayed for one night.

There is only one way to describe this hotel (read: piece of crap): Horror. Multiple stains on the bed and walls, dirty sheets (blood/bedbugs), a terrible shower, a more than awful breakfast, cracked mirror, stained carpets, a bed from medieval times, crazy & moronic staff. Can somebody please close this place down! Thank you!

Room Tip: There are no good rooms in this place!

Stopped for 2 nights - They charged me £20 for changing my booking for no apparant reason , the plaster all around the window was falling off, wall papaer peeling away with the damp, and a moth stuck to the cracked mirror. The drawers were falling to pieces and shower head sprayed in all directions. The worst was the coldness, i had to request a heater for over and hour as the radiators were not on , i had to leave the shower running so the steam warmed the bathrrom up .. Needs a visit by some health inspectors

Stayed one night. Room had dirty walls and other damage. Missing plug in sink. Very poor lighting in room - just the two bedside lamps within the main part of the room. One was broken - and our request to have it fixed (presumably just a new bulb?) was ignored. Staff seemed indifferent when we complained again. The hotel has a general air of disrepair and neglect - it looks like it hasn't had money spent on it for years. Out of curiosity I checked the fire escape route near our room - finding the 'push bar' security door to be open. Not very secure as anyone could access the hotel without going through the reception area. Our advice - try another hotel!

Room Tip: Maybe the Executive rooms would be worth a try?
