what a lovely old pub, beer and food is excellent and the atmosphere too. Staff are really friendly and helpful. This place is a little gold mine for the owners and therefore it would be advised if they spent a little of it on renovating the mens toilets as they are disgusting, they smell there are no urinal basins on the wall they are floor troughs the floors are a wash with urine which then gets walked through the pub. note to owneres get them altered it will make a huge difference and be more hygenic people dont want to paddle in other peoples urine.

A vile review of 18/06 was obviously mistakenly written about this place. The staff are fantastic, and Adam, the manager, a fabulous eye for attention to detail. Staff are friendly, helpful and cannot do enough for you. I have never been here and seen it empty. It's food is gourmet style, and especially recommend the Beef And Stilton pie. Utterly to die for. If there's just one thing to do before you kick the bucket, get yourself down there, grab a pint or two, and indulge in its fine food. 20/06 added by M. Fisher

Not realising that booking for the dining room is probably essential at the weekend, we ate in the bat. same menu. Portions were large, well cooked with no undue wait even though the pub was very busy. Would definitely recommend. Hope we are back in the area again for a return visit.

Having visited The Greyhound Inn many times, attending events held there and enjoying it every time, I was more than a little surprised at some of the negative comments on Trip Advisor; surprised enough to write a review myself.

In my experience, the food is delicious and always cooked to the customer's liking (unless, of course it would be a health hazard); I am a vegetarian and they have a very good choice of menu for me to choose from; the staff team have always been very polite, friendly and helpful when I have visited, even when they are very busy with an event in the marquee. The marquee is there a couple of times a year for a few months at a time; it is very popular for weddings and parties, charity raising events are held there and also they have live bands and discos on; there is something for everyone there.

The Greyhound is not the "usual run of the mill" modern pub; it is very traditional, in a canal side location. It has a welcoming atmosphere; tasty, freshly cooked food and a very good staff team to serve it to you; I'm not a beer drinker, but I have friends who are real ale drinkers and they tell me that they have the best real ale selection in the area.

They must be doing something right because it is so popular that it is often difficult to get a reservation for a meal or tickets for the events that are on......actually, my last sentence probably tells you more about The Greyhound than any of the reviews on Trip Advisor.
