Great pub , great food , staff lovely , live local to pub , always popping in and eat there a lot , my only moan is the toilets , could do with a major overhaul , soap dispensers not filled up regularly , men's toilet stink , we never sit by the toilets when eating due to the smell , would love to see this improvement

Hi Thanks for taking the time to review us, we are glad that you love the pub and appreciate the staff and what we do etc and we do agree with you with regards the toilets.

Being an old venue we are somewhat limited in our layout but we have plans to completely refurbish the gents at the end of summer (October). this will see us demolish the two cubicles to allow for one bigger cubicle that will properly allow for disabled access, we will be replacing all sanitry ware, the floors, and celings, windows and the introduction of new lighting, extraction and provision of modern hand wash facilities with much improved soap and tissue dispensers. We will also be upgrading the ladies facilities too which will see redecoration, heating, improved ventilation and new windows,

We currently have a cleaning regime that struggles due to the inapropriate usage and ignorance of some toilet facility users but we hope the new improvements together with increased focus on users behaviour will allow us to achieve the level of improvement that we all wish to see.

Many thanks again for your feedback it is much appreciated .

Food was amazing...portions are generous. The pub was cozy on a very wet July day. If you want to sit in the restaurant best to book but the bar was fine too. After two weeks on canals and visiting their pubs the Greyhound was the only one worthy of a resounding cheer.

I'm lucky to have the greyhound as local, last week I had family over from the USA and I was entrusted to organize a family get together for 17 of us (no pressure then) You have to book well in advance even if its it's midweek (don't expect to walk in and get a table) even the locals don't get that privilege. Book in advance and your guaranteed great food drink and service at very reasonable rates. you only have to look at the staff year on year they don't change and always have a smile. It may be a little cramped at times but if you want a real pub this is where you need to be, all that does is add to it's character.

We walked from the canal basin in Coventry along the canal towpath, takes about 2 hours, and were rewarded by some excellent beer at the end of our walk. We got there at about 4 pm and were able to find a seat but even so the pub is still very busy, the serving areas are small so you need to be patient. Beautiful setting at the confluence of two canals.

We have been customers of The Greyhound for 9 years and the hardest thing we find is which meal to chose off the menu ! the food is cooked from fresh not microwaved with a mmmmmm in every mouthful. We love the staff nothing is ever too much trouble they are courteous and friendly. We take all of our visitors from abroad there it's the perfect English pub. Recently Linda Nolan was visiting a friend and they booked a table in the restaurant and she loved it all the food the ambience and the staff and the regulars who she sat with later outside. We have used the private dining rooms frequently especially lovely near Christmas time with the decorations. Service was still excellent as was the food. This is a pub with a heart always raising money for charity so generous. 5 star !!!!!!!!!!!!!
