From the very first moment we saw the hotel, both my wife and I could not have been more impressed by the grandeur of Coombe Abbey itself, and we were about to discover that the entire stay would be just as magnificent.
To say that our anniversary weekend stay (and medieval banquet) was outstanding would not do full justice to the place.
The staff were impeccably well mannered, extremely friendly and immaculately presented.
The room was breathtaking, we stayed in The Lucy Bedchamber and could not have asked for anything more splendid.
The medieval banquet was an absolutely riotously enjoyable experience, made even more fun by the entertainment staff.
The restaurant was simply top class. The food, drink, and the service was unbeatable.
By far and away, the best hotel experience I have ever had, not the cheapest in the world, but when you pay for quality, you get quality, and Coombe Abbey delivers it up in spadefuls.

Stayed at night here while attending a wedding - location and ambience is delightful. Service does not foillow through in the same 5 star way. Breakfast selection medicore; no currency exchange at reception; checkout time is 11am; no cafe latte available; only biscuits available with filter coffee - no scones etc. Staff not very engaged. Nice for one night if over-priced.

My husband and I stayed here for one night over the August bank holiday. From the moment you enter this beautiful hotel you are made to feel welcome. The hotel has an almost Harry Potter magical feel to it. We stayed in a feature double room. It was STUNNING and looked out over the moat. It had a four poster bed and beautiful furnishings. On our arrival we were told that there were 2 weddings (one of which was for 350 people) this worried us slightly but we were told that our room had been selected away from where this was taking place. I can honestly say the weddings had no impact on our stay, we heard some music but it stopped at a reasonable hour... We also had the pleasure of watching their beautiful firework display that we watched from our window :O)
The staff went out of their way to be helpful, the hotel and grounds are simply stunning. If I were to make one small tiny criticism it would be the breakfast is a buffet and not cooked to order, this didnt particulary bother me but my husband much prefers breakfasts cooked to order as he said his eggs were a little rubbery.
Apart from this tiny matter it was altogether wonderful!

Room Tip: Choose a feature room.... its worth paying the extra.

We had afternoon tea here, although we had a to wait a while because they were very busy, they did explain why it was taking a while,a coach party and they were baking fresh scones !
When we got the food and tea it was superb, freshly made sandwiches, and an assortment of cakes ( scones still warm ) and tea of your choice.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Thank you !

What a beautiful setting in magnificent parkland with beautiful gardens within the confines of the Hotel's boundaries. The Garden Restaurant is an excellent venue and the quality of the food provided for afternoon tea, the ambiance and the excellent service made for a superb afternoon
