Spectacular views of the hotel and gardens as you approach the hotel but you have a bit of a walk from the car park, not good if its raining. Not a good welcome from the receptionist who really didnt seem interested at all.
Stayed in a lovely feature room, food nice but very expensive.

From first entering the hotel the welcome and ambiance was delightful. The food is excellent, would return to the restaurant but probably not stay overnight again. There is only one restaurant and it is in a large orangery which on a warm day is a little uncomfortable with just ceiling fans blowing the warm air around. W stayed overnight on a Saturday and there were 3 different weddings on so we were unable to explore a lot of the hotel or even sit outside as this was of bounds and we were asked on several occasions when we did try to leave hotel to sit in the garden, if we were part of one of the wedding parties!!
the hotel needs to cater for residents on a hot day!! Our feature room was not as it looked on the website and was small but we did get a four poster bed and French doors which opened up into the back garden area as we were on the ground floor. That said, the staff were friendly, service in the restaurant excellent and if you can get a good deal online for a feature room or a suite, it is well worth a visit. I would be disappointed if I had paid full price for a feature room but managed to get a good deal last minute.

From the really warm welcome, to the stunning views of the moat and gardens, from a relaxing bath in a roll top tub, to chocolates on our pillows. We enjoyed the most beatiful wedding ever. We loved every minute. This is a delightful and charming hotel with good old fashoned excellent service from Tony. Thank you for making a day to remember, a weekend to remember! Robert & Christine

Did not stay, but visited for a celebration meal. The hotel setting is magnificent in a large wooded park with long access drive, good parking and fantastic walks around the gardens and tree lined areas. From first entering the hotel the welcome and ambiance could not be faulted, all of the waiting staff from Matre D ,bar staff and waitresses were smiling and friendly, and provided a very quick and efficient service. The food is excellent and a credit to the chef and his team, good choice, nice presentation, obviously good quality ingredients.
The wine list is extensive with good quality. As with many hotels of this calibre the drinks/wine prices are high, the food ,when taking into account the quality is fairly priced, but, the hotel location, service and ambiance make for a very pleasant experience and we came away well pleased, fulfilled and happy, a great night, we will be back maybe for one of their special theme nights including an overnight stay. Thanks to all the staff.
