From the really warm welcome, to the stunning views of the moat and gardens, from a relaxing bath in a roll top tub, to chocolates on our pillows. We enjoyed the most beatiful wedding ever. We loved every minute. This is a delightful and charming hotel with good old fashoned excellent service from Tony. Thank you for making a day to remember, a weekend to remember! Robert & Christine

Did not stay, but visited for a celebration meal. The hotel setting is magnificent in a large wooded park with long access drive, good parking and fantastic walks around the gardens and tree lined areas. From first entering the hotel the welcome and ambiance could not be faulted, all of the waiting staff from Matre D ,bar staff and waitresses were smiling and friendly, and provided a very quick and efficient service. The food is excellent and a credit to the chef and his team, good choice, nice presentation, obviously good quality ingredients.
The wine list is extensive with good quality. As with many hotels of this calibre the drinks/wine prices are high, the food ,when taking into account the quality is fairly priced, but, the hotel location, service and ambiance make for a very pleasant experience and we came away well pleased, fulfilled and happy, a great night, we will be back maybe for one of their special theme nights including an overnight stay. Thanks to all the staff.

I stayed here for a friends wedding. I loved the room with period furniture and attention to details in fixtures and fittings. The bed was super comfortable - I didn't want to get out of it! Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. Extremely helpful and professional staff on reception and in the bar and restaurant. I would definately stay here again. And not expensive, very good value for money.

Food was great, but I'm sorry to say the rooms were really awful !!!! We had a "feature room" and it was really disappointing. Really awful hairdryer, room needed a really good clean, was also very cluttered. Just felt generally dirty. Was very dark which I always find a worry; what are they hiding in the darkness?! Blankets felt dirty, just generally dirty dirty dirty. Smelly. Very old TV. Room was way, way too hot. We had the window open and an old rickety fan which was already in the room and it was still too hot.

Just generally feels like the place needs an injection of money.

Don't stay there if you can help it but worth the trip just to go to the restaurant.

The only problem being that the restaurant is technically a giant conservatory.

If you book a table, ask to have a table in the corner under the canopy thingys! They will know what you mean and it just gives you added privacy.

We didn't stay here but booked an afternoon tea. It's a beautiful place but very dark in the reception area which I suppose you should expect being an Abbey but my husband wears reactalite glasses so couldn't see a thing when we walked in! We really enjoyed the sandwiches, cakes, warm scones and cups of tea and Pimms. The staff were attentive and very friendly.

Went for a walk around the grounds. Very popular place. Never seen so many ducks in a lake before!

We will definitely stay here for a special occasion.

A lovely setting, seriously impressive buildings. This is matched with great bedrooms, great food and great service. If there is any criticism, it is the darkness of the place, its dark, but its all part of the ambience. Bedrooms a little dark as well.

All in all, a great place, would definitely return!
