We stayed here to break up the journey on our way home from France, we booked a night on a whim a few days before arriving.
Couldn't have been happier when we arrived, the setting was lovely and peaceful, and it looked quite good from outside. I expect it was a very grand hotel in its day (which admittedly may have been 1970 but you get what you pay for)
The service at reception was great, no bother at all, room was lovely and big, bed was comfortable enough, bathroom was like being in a time warp, but the bath was big and had good water pressure. No shower which was a bit of a let down.
Decided to have the carvery for dinner, We were happy with it, food was tasty and service was good, even with multiple functions on at the same time.
Breakfast again was good, all you can eat buffet with good choice.
There was a kettle in room, and a hairdryer, and a trouser press.
I imagine it would be spectacular when it was a bit newer, or if it was done up, but its a massive place, and it was certainly clean and comfortable enough for us.

This hotel had seen better days and so had the rooms although they were clean and reasonably comfortable. The food was good and breakfast was very nice, the staff though were definately a mixed bag with a very drepressed looking chef. We were with a number of other coach parties and were a little disappointed to be crammed into a back bar, we managed to get a seat the first night but the second night was impossible and we came out with a couple of friends and played cards somewhere more comfortable where we could sit. Shame really couldn't recommed.

We arrived Fridaymorning accepted room was not ready, still not ready 4pm,should have been twin but was double eventualy converted into twin 4-15pm but made bed up ourselves.Went into reception met other guests on same weekend some had changed rooms due to condition not very pleased. We had been promised our rooms would be refurbished in time for our reunion and AGM this had not happened.Friday night dinner Carvery this was excellent as was breakfast Sat morning but the Gala Black Tie Dinner was a dissaster i will leave it at that.At the moment my wife and i will not be going back next year,I feel sorry for the organizer of our function i feel she had been let down by management with lack of staff in all departments.

Room Tip: i can't help in this matter as i didn't see any other rooms.

Myself & my family stayed here on our way to London, just to break our journey up from Blackpool. After reading the reviews on trip advisor i was a bit concerned, but i needent of worried. Some people are too pickey. The staff were very nice the rooms very clean & the breakfast was very nice & plentiful, for £40 per room b/b what more could you ask.All in all a very pleasant stay ,set in lovely grounds & only 10 mins from the motorway.

Room Tip: all rooms seemed ok.

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Court Hotel Coventry for two nights from the 3rd April 2013 on a dinner, bed and breakfast package including a bottle of wine each night.

The receptionist was quite pleasant and gave us the key to room 128, a ground floor room which was dull and uninviting, the window overlooked the entrance where everyone stood who wished to spoke, the window did not have any net curtains so we had everyone looking in.

So back to the reception and we were given room 353 on the second floor which was 100% better, a larger brighter room with a nice double bed, ensuite bathroom with shower over bath.

Breakfast was poor, the standard of food on offer was not very nice, eggs done in water and looked horrible, scrambled eggs just looked washed out, sausages burnt along with the greasy bacon, pre-done toast which tasted like it had been standing for hours, coffee which tasted like it had been made and flasked up the day before, all in all not a pleasant breakfast experience.

The dinner was not really much better, on both nights my wife who is a vegetarian had to order her dinner and was kept waiting for 15 minutes each night, even after the vegetarian meal was listed on the menu, the first night the chef insisted the meat stuffed peppers was the vegetarian option!!! The best thing about the dinner was the meringue baskets but they only last twenty minutes before they became unavailable, but low and behold the lady supervisor appeared with four on a plate for a special table!!!!

You cannot book a table before 1900 as all the coach parties have the first sitting at 1800!!!

We prepaid for the package but when I queried where was my drinks voucher for the second night I was told by the receiptionist you will have to come back tomorrow for your second voucher as people claim to have lost them previously!!

Would not stay here again, this Britannia hotel needs to take afew pointers from the Bosworth Hall Hotel another Britannia hotel which we feel is alot better hotel.

Good luck to the new General Manager Caroline.
