“Very impressive”

Stayed in a twin room with a friend on a spa deal and an overnight deal which included dinner and breakfast. Spa deal included light lunch.
This is quite a big place with a pub, a restaurant, a gym, pool with jaccuzis, sauna and steam room, Starbucks and treatment rooms. You can tell surrounding community come to it as their local gym, starbucks and pub. Despite how large it is we were mostly impressed by the consistently good customer service we received in every part of the village. The only place we didn't use was Starbucks. The hotel is busy but not uncomfortably so. Staff are chatty, ask all the right questions, they're helpful and made us feel very welcome. The food in both the restaurant and pub was of a good standard. The breakfast was also good. Gym is well equipped. Pool is a good size. Treatment rooms are lovely and the chill out bit a nice touch. Rooms were clean and warm.
The only little niggle was the lady in the restaurant on the Friday evening. She was very abrupt and we felt she let the rest of the staff down. Also, when we stayed there was a bunch of young professionals on some conference who banged doors and laughed and screamed into early hours. I believe hotel staff had to ask them to be quiet at some point.
Apart from that would highly recommend for a relaxing spa day/stay, a business stay, a buzzing stay with friends/family or a little getaway.

Stayed early in Feb 2013. Not for the first time but to give it a second chance.
No heating in the room despite the sign saying to put the room card in the slot to activate heating. There was no hot water in the morning and a dribble from the shower and taps.
Breakfast is very poor especially if you are toward the end of service. I mentioned my problems to the Receptionist when checking out who said I should have switched the radiator on - the switch is on the back of it. How should we know this? She also said sorry for the Hot Water issues but no compensation. She then told me there were no printers working and she would email the Invoice. I still don't have an Invoice despite 3 phone calls and 2 emails. I have pulled our entire company business from the hotel ( about 150 rooms per annum) . This is a dreadful hotel if travelling on business in particular.

Stayed 7 nights for business working at the NEC along with 6 colleagues. I have stayed in various village hotels, this was very good. Plenty of attentive staff, the room was clean, warm and well equiped for a week away (iron etc). Bar staff were good but food a bit standard in the bar but to be expected with a restaurant on site. restaurant food was fine and the staff good but any drinks that needed to come from the bar took way too long as one person went to get someone to take the order who gave it to the bar then every time it got forgotten. We ate out 3 nights but stayed for the Sunday carvery which was good so many courses and go up as much as you wanted, loved the yorkshires and gravy. We will book this one again.

I've used this hotel twice a year for 10 years now for exhibitions at the NEC. Only 10 mins in the car and much better value than the large corporate hotels around the NEC. It's clean, friendly, lots of amenities including free parking and nothing is overpriced. There are some really good restaurants within a short walk/drive (the farmhouse, wing wah, da vinci's) so I wouldn't bother eating here. I have done for convenience and its not bad though. There is a Starbucks too, and a pool, gym, etc if that floats your boat.

The recent refurb has made reception look dull and dingy and the rooms and corridors are looking a little tired in parts (bathrooms could do with upgrading), however the beds are really comfortable. All in all, it's damn good value for what you get, and I will continue to come back.

Me and my partner recently stopped at the Village Hotel Coventry. On check-in we was asked if we would like to pay an extra £20 and stop in the 'new upperdeck rooms' and was told we would be one of the first to use them. After being told what the rooms had to offer we decided to upgrade as the price was very reasonable.
The upperdeck rooms are located in the extension which means they are very quite and ideal for couples. The corridor was exclusive to upperdeck guests with grey new carpets and fresh purple doors.
The room was lovely! The brand new modern furniture was lovely and made the room feel spacious and homely. We had a Starbucks tea-tray with had 2 starbucks mugs, a bottle of water, hot chocolate, teas and coffees and biscotti biscuits - which we thought was fab. We also had 'pincable' toiletries which included organic shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap and a little box with pads, earbuds and plasters. We also had Sky in our room which made our stay very enjoyable as we could watch Sky movies in bed and drink our Starbucks hot chocolates! Which was great! The bed by far was the best part! It was egyptian cotton bedding and it was amazing! I can honestly say it was the best nights sleep I have ever had.
Upperdeck is well worth the extra £20! I will always be upgrading to upperdeck from now on with no hesitation! It is lovely!

Room was clean and adequate to what we needed. Staff at the front desk was very good no problems there.
Down to the swimming pool avoid with all cost during children swimming lesson!!! Sauna and steam room was lovely but the jacuzzi was out of order :( not good,
Had a nice time in the spa treatment only on we were able to get is a back massage so book in advance.
Food was lovely but during courses very slow but what can you do hey.

But over all its ok for the price and what you get for a hotel just off a motorway you could stay in alot worse.

Room Tip: Come see and have fun,

Ours was just a day visit to the Spa via a voucher, the hotel is fairly huge, and i fully expected to be treated just as a number, however, this really wasn't the case - every member of staff treated us exceptionally well, from the smiling receptionist, to all the spa staff, and not forgetting the girls in the bar.
my treatments were divine, totally relaxing and perfectly executed - very reasonably priced too.
(would just suggest this area could be kept a little quieter if possible).
if youre in the area - do not hesitate to stay here - im certain you won't regret it!
