“Perfect stay”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Very clean and comfortable hotel. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast is wonderful, with the breakfast being freshly cooked to order. A nice touch was the availability of crumpets to toast yourself on the continental bar. a great start to the day. I stayed here with a colleague and felt that we were well looked after, from arrival to booking a taxi for our departure.

We were even offered a drink while waiting for our taxi, even though we were early and the taxi was on time.

I have stayed in a lot of Premier inns around the country and must say this is the worst so far. The room was badly touched up with black mould around the shower (no bath) the heater made a loud clcking all night as it came on and off. The room was very small and very basic
, almost Travelodge style. My room was right next to the road in and out of the hotel and I was disturbed every morning by cars leaving and arriving. There was a bungalow directly opposite belonging to the Harvester so I had to keep my curtains closed.

I was there on business and wanted food in the evening so had to walk across the carpark to the harvester which was so busy I coulndt get a seat. I opted for a takeaway (burgers only) but waited 55 minutes for my order as did others.

The premmier Inn has a very, very small breakfast area (no evening meals) I was sitting within arms length of other guests and if too many guests turned up they were told to come back later or waited in the reception area. No good if you have to be somewhere.

The breakfast was as always very nicley done. Staff were smiling and helpful.

Very dissapointed and WILL NOT stay there again.

Premmier inns are classed as budget hotels but look at the prices they are not budget prices anymore. My stay cost £144x2 nights for a poor hotel. I could have stayed at a village hotel with gym, swimming pool etc for an extra £40

Room Tip: Don't stay there, you have plenty of choice in that area

On arrival it looks like a pub with an extension and that as far as it gets. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. The bed was like sleeping on a block of very flat concrete.

For food you have the Harverster pub next door It gets busy so get a table as quickly as you can. We didn't as we left it to late.

Breakfast was very good and well presented.

Room Tip: They are all the same

We only spent one night here. The rooms are on the smallish side but well maintained and clean. The bathrooms have walk in showers which we much prefer to baths. The staff are really nice and helpful and the Harvester next door isn't bad for a quick bite. The rooms on both sides of the hotel seem quiete. I would have given this an excellent rating but for the bed. We have stayed at Premier Inns all over the UK and never ever had a bed like this one, The beds are usually sprung divans but this was a mattress on wooden base (no slats or springs). To be fair when I mentioned on leaving that we had had a terrible nights sleep they refunded our money but it's really put me off booking anything else with Premier Inns in case the beds are like these. If Lenny had jumped onto this bed he would have had rather a hard landing and would have probably had backache in the morning. Shame as in all ither aspects this hotel is great.

Room Tip: All rooms the same (I think) but don't book this unless you like a bed almost as hard as the flo...

Parking spaces are a bit tight in the car park but you can't miss the entrance to this Premier Inn which is almost a bit over the top for this kind of hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff on reception. Cannot fault them for the two nights we were there. Room was compact compared to some Premier Inns we've stayed in but was clean and tidy and just as well looked after on the second day. No bath just a shower but it was good and powerful so could've been worse. Didn't eat breakfast here but set up seemed good. If the Harvester next door was better we would stay again. Because it was SO BAD we would think twice about doing so again as we prefer somewhere with a decent restaurant choice on site. So if you want somewhere reasonable to stay but are happy to eat dinner elsewhere then this is the place for you.

Fantastic value hotel. Stayed several night as convenient for NEC. The staff are helpful and polite. The rooms are modern , clean and comfortable. Breakfast fresh and cooked to order. Avoid the adjacent Harvester!!! Poor food, poor cleanliness and rude / lazy staff
