“Breakfast ”
Reviewed August 19, 2014 via mobile

We visited friends in Coventry and we had a long journey home after been their all weekend. We had to be out of are hotel for 11am. I rang the pub up to find out what time they served till and the lady was very polite. We got their 5 mins before they stopped serving breakfast. When we went in Bernie asked how many eggs we wanted and toast. She came to the table & asked us what drinks we wanted. On her return with the drinks she told use the eggs were ready. The chef even came out with more bacon even though they had finished serving breakfast. Half way through are meal she asked if we would like any more before they cleared for dinner. I was in a wheelchair and I was going to the toilet she was taken money of a costumer but she said sorry to the couple and opened the toilet door for me very very happy with food and staff.

“Excellent meal at low price”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

We had a carvery here, even though there is a menu available for other meals if you aren't keen on the carvery option.
There are options for starters, but we just had the carvery, for the price per person (under £5)
You can have a hearty meal with all the trimmings, beautifuly cooked. It tends to get very busy but that just shows how good the value is and that people keep returning and recomending to others.
My husband and i have been coming here for ten years now, and have only had a complaint once and that was that the stuffing was a little dry and tough, nothing really for ten years dinning :)
Worth every penny.

“sunday breakfast”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

popped in for breakfast. I use the carvery a couple of times a month - basic good roast at a sensible price but always seems a bit pensioners-lunch-club to me.

tried the breakfast once before and was annoyed that a set quantity of bacon & sausages was served to you and then you chose your other items, which isn't the 'eat all you like' option advertised.

This time was better. On arrival you're asked how many eggs you want and these are cooked to order. Coffee & toast are served to you then you go up to choose your breakfast items when eggs are ready. Server polite, friendly and attentive. £5.49 all-in and a thoroughly good experience.

“sunday lunch mmmmm”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

we sometimes go here for a sunday carvery and what a carvery. Plenty of good food on the plate at a very very reasonable price and even more reasonable in the week. This is by far the best carvey i've been to around the cov/leam area, would be hard to beat. would def recommend to anyone for a sunday carvery.

“Need nothing more than a value meal? Go for it.”
Reviewed June 10, 2014 via mobile

Found this CC quite by chance on the way to the motorway.

Possibly not sited in the best part of the city suberbs but who cares for a £4.29 meal.

Its a fairly general, non standard simple affair. Nothing to shout about, certainly the last place id take a group for a 'celebration' event. However, if you are after a simple quick and hot meal without the bells and whistles then these establishments are winners every time.

Pleasant service, clean cleared and vacant tables. Not overly busy on a tues evening. I have noticed a slight price increase but for just 20p extra for a full choice of 3 meats then who cares.

I went for turkey and beef. Beef was however scarse and tough. Turkey was fine. My server was a credit to their establishment.

As usual you have to pick your way through the veg. All was over cooked mush. Califlower cheese, well, was devoid of all things cheese. Best part was indeed the mash and roast potatoes. Gravy was thick and all sauces were available. I didnt bother with stuffing or yorkshire pudding.

As usual i piled then cleared the plate. Very pleasant waitress asked part way if all was well and teminded me of desserts at the end, clearing my plate.

Also does a carvery takeaway.

These places are great if you dont want to cook and need a meal. Nothing more.

Interior decor looked tired but id re visit if passing. It looked far better from the outside than the sizzling grill down the road!
