We ate at the grill with some friends before a production. A few of us ordered fajitas which were ok, nothing special but tasty, the problem was the lack of wraps, we only got 3 each and they were tiny! We were the only ones in there so the atmosphere was lacking slightly but otherwise ok.

“Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum and all that.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

Visited prior to Christmas to see Jack and the Beanstalk. Two adults and two kids with a reduced family priced ticket.

I can only echo the previous reviews. Fantastic performance. A good combination of a local panto (including the obligatory criticisms of Nuneaton and Bedworth, getting someone from the audience to participate on stage, and adhoc adlibbing) and big theatre panto, particularly with the performance of the giant.

The actors was first class. That is without exception. It's a shame that they couldn't get a boy to play the role of Jack, and that a bloke had to play Jack's mum. I am assuming this is due to the recession or something, but I am surprised Equity allow this to happen...

There are a limited number of boosters for the kids, but these are only allowed in the stalls.

Note - If you don't want to be that person chosen to appear on stage then sit in the circle. The cast only choose their 'victim' from the stalls.

We parked in the car park near the bus station. Having never visited the theatre previously I didn't fancy trying to leave the car park at the same time as several hundred other theatre guests and risk being stuck in the queue. It's about 10 minutes walk to the theatre from the car park.

Will book tickets for next years panto as soon as they are available.

“Jack & The Beanstalk - a-maz-ing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2013 via mobile

We (me, husband and grown up daughter) made our usual trip to the panto on Christmas Eve. This is our third Belgrade panto and was possibly one of the best we have seen in 20+ years. We booked tickets online about 3 months ago and collected them just before the performance. Parking is convenient (although not cheap) in the Belgrade Plaza multi story car park with lift access to ground level and then just a couple of hundred yards walk to the theatre. Theatre staff were friendly and helpful. The theatre itself has been recently refurbished and looks very nice. Our circle seating was comfortable and we had a great view of the stage. The acoustics were very good with every word very clear. The production itself was excellent with well constructed sets and beautiful costumes. The scripting was fast paced and very funny, made even more comical by several forays into ad lib land. The giant was brilliantly portrayed and looked pretty scary. There were some bangs and flashes which set a couple of very young children off crying but nothing too intense. The company seemed to really enjoy working together and displayed lots of energy. We thought it was great!

“Jack and the Beanstalk, Panto, excellant night and a great laugh...!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013

We booked online on their excellant website, tickets were delivered to our house very quickly, this allowed us to sail through reception on the night of the performance.

Confirmation and general info / directions etc was provided well in advance. The theatre itself is modern and welcoming. The seats were comfy enough, its was a three hour show inc the interval and not a struggle. We sat on the balcony on row C and had a great view.

Only minor gripe was when I purchased a bag of Jelly Babys in the interval...... and they were out of date, quickly replaced but with a slighlty apathetic apology. Full refund and a free bag would have been the way to go....!

Apart from this a great night, defo will return

The cost was £57 for a family of 4 so pretty reasonable.

“It's behind you........”

We went to see the 'adult ' panto in the B2 studio last night. A fun way to start Christmas! Only an hour long so plenty of time for a drink afterwards! First time we have been in B2, but will not be the last. Plenty of leg room and good view of the stage. Happy Christmas to all at the Belgrade Theatre.
