Description: Birmingham's Shimla Pinks. Located on bustling Broad Street and recently refurbished, this fun, funky flagship eatery is decked with modern furniture and art. Mixed with all this modernity are the traditional Indian values of hospitality and service. Black-clad staff are friendly, hip and helpful. A well written menu lists an enticing mix of traditional (thalis, jalfrezi, passanda), less well known (harrey masaley ka gosht) and earthy North Indian tandoori dishes - all served with fragrant basmati rice, salad, mint yoghurt sauce. Delicious. Nice vegetarian choices. Our new opening hours are: Mon - Wed: 5pm - 11.30Pm. Thurs - Sat: 5pm - 12.30Am. Sun: 12pm - 10.30Pm

“Excellent food and very good service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

Enjoyed my first visit to this restuarant. Our table of 10 had the banquet and I have to say the food kept coming and it was of the highest quality. Drinks were reasonably priced and when we asked for more starters and mains it was never an issue...in most cases it was offered before we even asked...would definitely return again.

“Overpriced.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

Even with 20% discount vouchers,we found this restaurant expensive for what you get. A starter of 2 prawns cost £10.00! , and they tasted rather dry. The rest of the food was okay, but not worth the price. I think we paid for the several waiters who attended us. Very friendly service, but why did it take nearly 15 minutes to get a non alcoholic cocktail? Twice. The decor and ambience of the room was welcoming, even though it was almost empty. Would not go again.

“Good food and service :-)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

The restaurant was quiet being midweek but the standard was still high. The service was very good with all members of staff attentive to the right level. The food was also very good, in particular a chickpea dish (can't remember what it was called though).
Also the restaurant accepts Tesco clubcard vouchers so that helps reduce the bill.

“Great food, beautiful restaurant, lovely staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

I went here as part of a works night out. There were eight of us and it was a group of mainly noisy women who weren't sure what they wanted.
The staff were super patient and friendly and took time to explain dishes to us even offering to make things not on the menu.
The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Plenty of options and the vegetarian range was particularly impressive- the chana masala was gorgeous!
The pakora didnt taste like it had been fried, was cooked perfectly and our accompanying rice and breads were great!
Everything was done in a way that you know they took a lot of time to plan and deliver. Cutlery was gorgeous, decor lovely and the lighting was even perfect.
I have to say I was very impressed and would definitely come back here again.
Many thanks to the staff if you are reading this!
