Description: Birmingham's Shimla Pinks. Located on bustling Broad Street and recently refurbished, this fun, funky flagship eatery is decked with modern furniture and art. Mixed with all this modernity are the traditional Indian values of hospitality and service. Black-clad staff are friendly, hip and helpful. A well written menu lists an enticing mix of traditional (thalis, jalfrezi, passanda), less well known (harrey masaley ka gosht) and earthy North Indian tandoori dishes - all served with fragrant basmati rice, salad, mint yoghurt sauce. Delicious. Nice vegetarian choices. Our new opening hours are: Mon - Wed: 5pm - 11.30Pm. Thurs - Sat: 5pm - 12.30Am. Sun: 12pm - 10.30Pm

Food was very poor considering it was a £30 per head 'banquet'. Bad music, poor waitering very, very slow service. Over priced and underwhelming. !

The decor is contemporary and stylish and the restaurant is huge. I imagine this could make for a great atmosphere when packed but leaves it a little cavernous when it's not - as was the case on a wednesday night. The food was very good, as was the service and the range of dishes was huge. Really well cooked and seasoned. It's not cheap but well worth a visit

I was on a business trip to Birmingham with my CFO and our target for the week was to get a lot of work done during this time, We thought of visiting a nice indian restaurant and Shimla Pinks was literally next to our hotel and we had a long day so needed a nice place to relax and get to talk to my colleague about our days events. As we entered we were greeted by a short, charming muscular man who sat us down to our table, the restaurant decor was a plus but a little dates, paint missing, chairs dirty but all in all kept in good shape. We were then greeted by a Young, Tall waiter, I think his Name was Aizad but he has my business card, and i tell you something, Aizad is the best waiter in Birmingham, His is clever, Charming and very well presented, He is the only thing that made Shimla Pinks good. Now going to the Bad Part of this Dinner, The charming, Short, Muscular man with grey black beard, told me his the Manager of the place turned out to be not a very nice person, he is angry, over heard him shouting at one of the waitresses for talking, all the staff looked like they really did no like working at this place, Me and my college ordered our food, we had starters, and main. I had a chicken Biryani for main; Looked appealing but had way to much oil and grease and for the price, was not even worth a £5. My college also had a problem with his Lamb dish, was way to greasy and the portion size for the price is terrible. I had like 4 pieces of chicken in my Biryani. Drinks are over priced to the limit where its considered robbery. So we complain to our Nice waited and as you will expect he apologized and i saw him going over to the Short Man - Manager to discuss the situation. All i could hear are swears and all things pointing in the way that we are in the wrong. He then came over and with a dirty look told us that he cant do any thing about it and if we did not like the food we should have told them in the first place, these were the shorts mans words, he is rude, over powering and truly the worst manager i have probably come across, he sounded like he did no care and just wanted us out of this place. So we said ok give us the bill please, we got it, paid it and we were walking out the Manger just gave us a dirty look, we smiled at him and left. I must say, worst experience ever, Aizad was good, Needs a promotion, but we can all do with respect, This place is terrible, the food tasted old, frozen, left overs from a different table maybe. I felt sick afterwords.
