“Hidden gem”

We went to see Ironman 3 and we were sat on the leather sofas, which were great value considering that normal cinemas are so expensive now. The tickets are quirky and we have kept them since our visit. We also loved the text the bar service, where we ordered drinks and brownies. A wonderful night!

“Gorgeous little cinema!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

I've visited this cinema a few times now, and it has never been anything but excellent.
I visited with my boyfriend (who is 6ft4) and we sat in front of some patrons in the sofas, which are more costly than the standard seats. The porter came in about 3 minutes after the film started, and asked us very kindly and politely if we could move forward a row, as the people behind couldn't see. We were happy to oblige, and were rewarded with two free tickets for being understanding.
Their customer service is amazing.
The cinema is small, and the toilets are a bit of a trek, but it is worth it for a much warmer and pleasant feel than the generic cinemas of today.
The food and drinks are wonderful. No popcorn? no problem. The other snacks they offer are far better, and are always gorgeous. Having a cheeky glass of wine too is always a bonus!
Can't wait for my next visit already.

“Beautiful little cinema”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

This is a true gem in the city. As the oldest cinema in the UK it has so much character. There are only 2 small screens but this makes it really intimate. There are sofas as well as normal seats, a good range of films showing, and instead of overpriced popcorn and cola that you would find in chain cinemas, you can have olives, nuts, cakes, wine and beers! Great place!

“Adorable venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

This cinema is the oldest in the UK and only has two screens for film viewings. The screens offer normal cinema seating or premier seating (sofas) if wanted at an extra charge. I thought the cinema was a lovely experience and somewhat different to a normal cinema visit, the cinema offered alcoholic beverages served in glasses and cocktails and wine in coolers if needed. Nibbles were also available in little ramekin dishes which i thought was a lovely touch! I didnt think that the cinema was anymore expensive than any other cinema id been to which i thought was good... id definitely revisit! Had a lovely pleasant experience and id definitely recommend it to anyone!

“A treat for adults”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

The cinema is the oldest in the UK. It has two screens one upstairs and one down. Both areas have comfortable sofa seating at a premium and ordinary seats if required. The customer mat partake of alcoholic beverage and homemade cakes etc. These may be replenished by a phone call to the box office and they will be brought to you. Although not cheap well worth the experience. The downside are the toilet facilities which are down steep stairs.
