The best day out we have ever done!

Our hour session was really well organised and included 20 minutes track time - which is about 15 to 25 laps depending on how fast you go. After registering we were kitted out with a body suit, balaclava, helmet and gloves, before a quick briefing. You'll need to wear trainers and, as it's outdoors, dress warmly if it's cold (they'll give you 'wet' suits if it's raining).

The track is amazing - fast with a variety of great corners to learn to master. There were safety marshals on the circuit and afterwards you get a print-out of your lap times.

We upgraded to have an extra 20 minutes track time, which was well worth it. After the first session we asked the staff for more tips on how to approach the corners and what racing lines to take… and managed to shave several seconds off our best lap time in the second session!

It’s great value for money and the staff were so professional, friendly and helpful. We took a camera with us and they offered to take photos for us while we were racing. Throughout they made us feel really welcome, joined in the banter and were incredibly enthusiastic, especially compared to other activities we’ve done where it feels like the staff are just going through the motions.

We were left buzzing from the adrenaline! This is without a doubt the best day trip/activity we’ve ever done, which is impressive as we’ve tried all sorts! I have been indoor karting before and I enjoyed this so much more - also there’s so much more room off the track and the crash barriers have a bit of give, which gives you the confidence to go faster!

Our brother lives in Canada and called the centre to buy us tickets as a Christmas present. He said the guy on the phone was so helpful and the tickets arrived with us the next morning in a gold envelope. They’re really accommodating and if it’s a gift, they can print tickets without the price.

The four of us had the track to ourselves (probably because it was the middle of January!), but there were 25+ students arriving as we were leaving. It would be ideal for birthdays, stag dos, corporate events or just groups of friends.

We will definitely be going again… and again!!

some of the karts are really terrible, the rest are just poor. Winning the race is down to luck of the draw on the karts, not driver skill.

Our firm booked a karting event as part of our Christmas celebrations so 34 of us made our way on a cold and dark afternoon to the venue past millennium point about a mile out of the city centre. It was a kind of surprise and although we knew it was karting we assumed it was in a warehouse and were a little taken aback when told it was outside...in December!

I think most of our hearts sank as we drove up a cold and dimly lit street off the ring road before turning left into the wheels park. I think this made it even better as the transformation from dimly lit street to floodlit stadium with music pumping was amazing. The car par attendant directed us to a hospitality block where the manager was already telling jokes and entertaining those that had already arrived.

The banter stopped for a while as we were given quite a strict safety briefing and it suddenly dawned on us that were about to take part in professional motor racing. Our CEO just stood there smiling and we just knew he had been before!

We were split in to 17 teams and were arranged on the grid in order of lap times after practice. The race itself was called a Le Mans format which was effectively a relay with team mates working together and communicating with a pit board. It was without doubt the best driving experience I have ever had and with the commentary it really did feel like being Lewis Hamilton for the afternoon. Everybody loved it and we are still talking about it now - only problem was the CEO's team won and he still struts around the office wearing his medal!

This is a massive race circuit with very professional staff who can't do more to help you - do not miss it if you are visiting the area.

Birmingham Wheels International Circuit was a really nice and friendly place. 70mph ish karts which were great. Went as a stag group and we had a 5 min qualifying then 30 odd min race.

The track was very good, one of the best tracks I have raced on. The only disappointing thing was just a personal view that the additional corners config we raced on the international track (i think) took away from the race for me. I would have liked the straighter course with less corners not being a regular kart enthusiast .

Overall a good morning and lots of fun was had.
