We visited from London to the LG Arena to see Kings of Leon.

The tickets we had were standing, we are used to going to a lot of arenas in London but found the LG arena was very efficent at getting people into the area and issuing out wristbands. The queues for the drinks and cash points were long but thats to be expected - good prices compared to London on beverages.
There are a range of food stalls inside the arena (non branded as far as im aware) which included pizza, hot dogs, burgers and various other fast food options.

Once into the standing arena there was good atmosphere and we got quite near to the front with little issue and with plenty of room to dance/move about. It wasnt an overly massive venue so i can imagine it being good view from any seating/standing view.

The main problem i had with the LG Arena was the issue of getting out and trying to get a taxi. There is no system whatsoever and totally insane - we called a local taxi number from google and they agreed to meet us at the entrance of the crowne plaza nearby so we walked down and so many people were sitting on the grass around there and basically pouncing on cabs as soon as they pulled in! there needs to be a proper system of a taxi rank or something to get a bit more organisation.

Venue is OK, not great, not awful. Layout is just like other venues, floor seating and then seating round the edges.

Been to many events/concerts here, Jasper Carrotts Christmas shows to Crufts and everything in between over the years, the latest being The Who 2 days ago. Must say the seats are more comfortable these days. Is it me or has the volume been reduced? Saw The Quo for the umpteenth time awhile ago and they definitely seemed quieter. It is a central place to get to with loads of organised parking but as all tickets are quite expensive is it really necessary to charge £8 parking fee - seems greedy to me.

Been to see bands at the NEC since it opened in the seventies and I can honestly say that this lasrt refurb of the arenais the worst ever. Terrible hum as you walk in to the food area, noisy and long queues. £4 for a bottle of Becks. Went to the smoking area and felt liked a caged animal,no tables or chairs or cover from rain, truly awful.Have to say plenty of ladies toilets but long queues at the mens as they now are all cubicles. But the worst part is the arena,I went to see George Michael a few months ago and the sound was terrible. Thought it was a problem with him (He does have a few) but last night with the Who has proved to me it is the fault of the arena. I have seen the Who numerous times at the old arena and enjoyed them all but left last nights concert with temporary threshold shift and vowing never to go again. At times it just felt like the music was just going round and round and had to cover my ears at times. They are charging high prices for tickets to cover the cost of rebuilding and giving a worse service.
