What a warm welcome, excellent service, the owner/manager was exemplary in greeting us.
Food was excellent, ate off the set menu and was very happy with the food and the quality.
Eat frequently round china town and its hard to find the balance between good service and good food; this restaurant has got the balance right
Will definitely return again.

I was surprised to see my favourite restaurant Golden Pond had closed down and taken over by a new owners. I visited this restaurant with a brand new make over to a very modern and contemporary look. The tables and chairs have all been replaced to black modern wood and cream leather. Decor was beautiful new paintwork and completely refreshed. New management and waiters. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. New look menus and updated with some lovely dim sum dishes. We ordered our favourite Dim sums , King Prawn dumplings(Har gow) and Pork and Prawn dumplings, Shanghai steam dumplings, Beef Cheung Fan and Special Mixed Ho-fun noodles. The dumplings and noodles arrived within half hour and Chinese tea arrived immediately when we sat down. The food was hot and very tasty nicely cooked and very fresh. The special Ho-fun had a good selection of meats roast Char siu pork, Roast crispy duck, King Prawns, Cuttlefish, Fish cake, Mange Toute , Chinese broccoli colourful, not greasy and very well cooked. My favourite dish. My mum was most impressed by the quick service, friendly nature of the two managers and efficient staff. Most important in a chinese restaurant tasty food, efficiency and friendliness and value for money. The meal for the two of us came to £25 for lunch. Very impressed will definitely go again.

We ate here on Boxing Day evening and were warmly welcomed, shown to a nice table, and provided with both chopsticks and cutlery. The decor is lovely, and there was a very good atmosphere.

Our waiter was great - friendly, efficient and professional without being obsequious. The food was fantastic - we shared dim sum and crab claws to start, then char siu pork with pak choi, duck in plum sauce, mixed vegetables and egg fried rice. Everything was fresh, tasty and hot, and the portions were generous. The prices for both drinks and food were very reasonable. Most of the diners were Chinese and we were asked if we would prefer plates or bowls, they really are trying to cater for everyone.

Towards the end of the meal the manager came over and asked for feedback and was delighted with our positive comments - the restaurant opened very recently and they are obviously keen to make it work.

I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Be warned, it's tucked away in a corner on the 1st floor of the Arcadian and takes some finding, but it really is worth the effort.

We have eaten in Shanghai Blues (in the Archadian, upstairs) on a Saturday night and had dim sum for Sunday lunch. All the staff were excellent both times, friendly, helpful and efficient! We particularly enjoyed the dim sum, but everything we ordered was excellent. The majority of customers were Chinese, both times which is usually the best recommendation and didn't let us down. Both meals were fantastic value for money. The Chilian sauvignon blanc was very good. Rare to find a restaurant with great food, service and value for money. A gem of a find!

Happy new year to you! Your review and compliment about our restaurant is fully appreciated by me and all of our staff. We feel all our hard working is worth doing. Dim sum is a very traditional lunch time dining style amongst Chinese family and we are glad you and your friend share the same enjoyment. We are looking forward to seeing you and your guests back soon in the near year!
