“Great little local cafe/bar”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

This is a great cafe to visit any time of the day. The breakfast is great, as is food in the afternoon/evening (we've visited lots!).

The range of drinks on offer is good and changes regularly. Tiny little place so seating is sometimes difficult but well worth a visit

“Lovely little place with options for everyone”
Reviewed February 2, 2013 via mobile

I came here on recommendation of my brother and found it to be a charming little café. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised that they served soya milk, vegan meals and cakes. It also serves meat and dairy though so everyone can choose something here. It was also good value so overall a very happy customer.

“Cheap, friendly cafe”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is a great little cafe, nothing too fancy but the food is tasty and cheap and it has a local "vibe" too it. There is seating outside which is nice in the summer. There are the regular all day breakfast options in addition to veggie options such as the veggie chilli which was really tasty. The drinks are a reasonable price and generously sized.

“A really friendly, cool cafe”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

York Road and Poplar Road in King's Heath are becoming great places for cafe society haunts, with a wealth of great places to eat, drink and relax in friendly and comfortable surroundings. However, the one venue that is rapidly becoming my 'local' is Cherry Reds on York Road, which combines a cosy, 'indie' environment with some really delicious food at pretty well unbeatable prices. It's friendly, always has great music playing [more 'Radio 6' than 'Radio 1'], does some of the best chips I have ever had, and has some good specialist nights from time to time: Japanese food, cheese tasting, beer tasting, John Peel music nights etc. I'm a parent with young children, and it has always been welcoming to all of us; and as a vegetarian, it has some great choices [fresh-cooked vegetarian chilli, halloumi salad, zingy falafels, home-made hummus, a really filling all-day veggie breakfast - for example]. I'm sure there's plenty there for the non-veggie, too! Really recommended - you won't find a better and friendlier place if you are on a budget, and right in the heart of King's Heath's shopping centre, too. One word of warning - it's small, and deservedly popular - but come and squish in with the rest of us: it's worth it!
