We went for my birthday during opening week. We waited half an hour for menus, another half an hour for our drinks order and half an hour after ordering, we were told they couldn't cook a couple of our meals. No apology and no discount for bad service. Won't be going back

The cuisine is Punjabi which is unusual for this area. Most local restaurants in the Birmingham area a Bangladeshi.

The restaurant has not been open for very long. It is on the first floor but there is a lift available.

The dining area is quite extensive and well appointed. There is a bar at the far end of the room with some soft seating and an open kitchen area so you can watch the chef at work. They also serve cocktails which is again unusual.

We all had starters and these were unusually served all together on one steel sizzling plate. What did surprise us was that this was placed on the table and we were left to help ourselves? I had Shish Kebabs and these came with a small salad on a separate plate of course. There were three Kebabs that were smaller than usual at about 150mm long but the taste made up for the size. My main course was King Prawn Bhuna with Pilau rice. A very generous portion of large succulent prawns in a wonderful spiced sauce.

We all enjoyed our food immensely and could not fault any of it. However, let me talk about the service. Some of the waiting staff and certainly not Punjabi and whilst extremely pleasant and helpful there were a few hiccups in the delivery of food to the table and a lengthy wait. Even down to getting the bill at the end of the meal was slightly painful.

Great people, lovely décor, wonderful food. Service needs attention which I am sure will without doubt improve with time.

The restaurant also supports our local Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, which we applaud.
