Despite some recent bad reviews for this hotel which we found unsettling this worry was unfounded as we really enjoyed our overnight stay. with plans to see a show at the NIA the hotel was the ideal place to use as we travelled up by train. The room was clean, well equiped and quiet. The check-in was trouble free and the breakfast very good ...what would have made it excellent would have been the addition of Black Pudding. We will certainly return

Thank you very much for your review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Hotel La Tour Birmingham. I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Just a note on the black pudding we do keep it stock so on your next visit please make your request to the restaurant team and the breakfast will be happy to cook you some. Kind regards, Jane Riley

Visited the hotel for a Christmas party and found the hotel to be very impressive and staff very friendly. The rooms were superb and really roomy, but the only thing to let our stay down was the meal it was very manufactured, almost liked precooked food. Everything was round, the turkey, stuffing and potatoes. The fire alarm went off twice in the night, apparently set off by people having a smoke in their rooms - not the fault of the hotel.

Overall the hotel is impressive, but our meal let it down. Breakfast was good.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay at the Hotel La Tour, I was very disappointed to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations in all areas. Please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I was sorry to hear you felt the food was manufactured, and almost liked precooked food, please let me ensure you that this is certainly not case and the Head Chef only ever use fresh ingredients in all of his dishes. However I do see your point on the presentation that it could appear this way. I will pass your comments on to Dan Pearce Head Chef and thank you very much for the constructive feedback. Only stayed one night whilst visiting the Christmas market but wished we had stayed for two. Only 5 minutes from the Bullring, this was the ideal place for our shopping trip. Great modern decor, extremely helpful & friendly staff & a very comfortable room made everything about our stay so easy. Would definitely recommend & would readily book again!

I stayed here with a colleague after night out at the Annexe Restaurant (see separate review) and was very pleasantly surprised. We booked for 1 night (twin room) for £89.
On arrival you can actually park directly outside reception in a bay and offload luggage. There is a 20 minute waiting time here so you can actually check in, take bags to rooms and go back to car after to park. The other good advantage for a city hotel is the adjacent car park (£10 per night) and another carpark a few minutes away that's only £5 per stay (ideal if you're leaving your car for more than one night). Check-in experience was very welcoming and we were given nice room on 2nd floor. View out the window isn't very inspiring, as you're looking on to a road, but it is in centre of a city, and we didn't book to sit in room looking at the view. Beds comfortable, bathroom nice (huge shower, no bath) and spare towels found in the wardrobe. The lights in the room can all be controlled from the bedside phone system and there is docking stations at the small desk area for USB etc.
We didn't dine at the hotel, but did return to the bar after dinner in local restaurant and found the bar a convivial place to be and the staff very friendly.
Would definitely recommend and will definitely use again if staying over in Birmingham.

The decor and furnishing is high quality and the food is excellent. Great value deal found. The staff were attentive and service in the restaurant was first class. The hotel is a little off the beaten track but worth the extra little walk.

This was a gift booked by my husband as a birthday treat to combine the Christmas markets with a visit to see our son.
As we couldn't change our booking for one of the offers the staff very kindly upgraded our room and included complimentary breakfast to conmpensate. This was a truly kind act.
The room was as expected (having stayed before). High tech, clean, everything you would need for a good and relaxing night sleep.
We ate at the restaurant on our first night and despite only having one vegetarian option which was not acceptable (due to the mushroom content), the staff were great at discussing this with the chef and offering a last minute cooked alternative. Which we all agreed was as fantastic as all our other choices. You could not fault the food or service. Regrettably we were all too full to sample desert.

Breakfast (which one does not normally indulge in) was again a revelation to the highest. Choices of fruit, yoghurt, croissants, toast, jam, fruit and a full cooked breakfast (which, I must mention contained the nicest sausages I have ever eaten). Not to mention fresh juices and lovely hot coffee -all served on elegantly laid tables. Breakfast kept us going until the evening.

Having struggled through the crowds at the Christmas markets we decided to order room service for supper. Yet again this did not disappoint in any way, the good was hot and fresh.

I also felt that the parking which was amazingly priced at only £5.00 per stay, the car was safe and handy in the bullring to load the shopping straight into.

Regrettably we never got to sample the afternoon tea which my husband would have thoroughly enjoyed as we had a long trek back, but this gives us something to look forward to when we return.

All the staff both on the phone and in person were so friendly and personable they made my birthday extra special.

Thoroughly recommend this hotel, and we have stayed at quite a few!

Room Tip: I think they are all good

The hotel is well located. Very trendy and modern. Rooms lovely, beds large, bedding soft and snug. Bathroom toiletries smell devine!

Restaurant was very busy but service did not suffer. Food excellent. I had a steak. I happen to just mention to the waitress that I felt my steak was slightly too salty due to over seasoning and the general manager was over to chat to us within 5 mins! Impressive!

Breakfast was a bit chaotic really as queuing for tables and staff struggled to keep up laying up new tables so the one we were seated at was missing cutlery but it was soon provided once pointed out.

Otherwise an excellent experience. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back on one if their theatre deals, perhaps warhorse!
