We have happy memories of the old library. The 'new' library is mostly empty space, has less books than the old library and cost an obscene amount of money to build. And whose idea were the ridiculous rings covering the whole of the outside?

Nice modern building,
Love the outdoor roof terraces with garden beds perfect for a rainy day. They are on x2 levels and wrap around the building so it allows you to be able to catch the sun the whole day.
If its rainy there are plenty of places to chill and read a book .

If you live in Birmingham I suspect that this library is a valuable resource. If you are visiting the city it is worth making time to enter to see the architecture, see the views, and see the Shakespeare room. I was almost wonder-struck simply by how good it is.

Loved this library and so much nicer than the old concrete monstrosity. It is wonderful inside, the Shakespeare room a delight and lots of quirky places to sit. I could spend hours here.

A really modern building on centenary square, worth a look from an architectural point of view!! Lots of light and space inside, and worth taking s trip to the 7th floor for the rooftop garden!
