We use the Old Hare and Hounds a few times a year and always found the food to a good standard.
However, our Christmas meal was way below what we expected.
The starter and pudding were really good.
The succulent beef meal I had been looking forward to was rubbish.
The beef was tough to cut and tough to chew.
The roast spuds had concrete overcoats protecting them but they were OK inside.
The parsnips were way over cooked, almost black.
Some of the meals had a sausage wrapped in bacon.
The bacon was literally charcoal.
As stated in the previous post, there was a shortage of gravy, but more was supplied when requested.
Apart from the parsnips, the rest of the vegitables were OK.
Will we book another Christmas meal there?
Not yet sure, it may have been just a really bad day at the office.
