“Authentic African Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

It's amazing how authentic this place is - I don't mean it looks authentic, it just is! The clientele are authentic too. As a sole mzungu in this "little Kenya" I've been made very welcome, and enjoyed food which is just like we ate in ordinary places in Kenya, and Tusker baridi to wash it down.

The food is good and comes quickly, and inexpensively.

Don't come expecting great comfort - do come for the atmosphere!

“A trip to Nairobi, inside Birmingham”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2012

We were looking to eat some nyoma choma around birmingham. We discovered this incredible spot, a miracle of authenticity.
it's a proper kenyan restaurant for kenyans. It's not an african restaurant for english people. So, if you are english, it's a proper experience, like being in a local restasurant i nairobi. Nothing to show but honest african taste.
The food was incredibly good and honest. We had a tripe soup - delicious, a goat soup - amazing, ugali -like in kenya, and a great nyoma choma (bbq of goat). Of course, everything was flooded by litres of frozen Tusker, kenyan beer.
Everything was cooked and served by the amazing owner, who does everything. After dinner time people started to arrive for some dancing. The perfect equilibrium. An austhentic experience, very rare nowadays. This palce reserves popularity.
