“A nice stay”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

Beds comfortable, rooms quite well laid out although mastering the temperature control was fun. No opening windows though so room a little stuffy. The bath however, is it is bath or a puddle. At least the shower was very and revitalizing.

Breakfast very good. Not cheap bangers and bacon but good tasty food. Well done. I would stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel with colleagues for business purposes.

STAFF - Amazing and very friendly. Explained everything well and the check in process was very easy

CLEANLINESS - Spotless!

COMFORT - Very comfortable rooms, generous size and ample wardrobe space. Everything you need is provided such as ironing facilities, tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. Nice big flat screen TV and amazing views (depending on the floor)

COMMUNAL AREAS/BAR - Very welcoming, a good evening was spent in the bar, I did find the restaurant a little pricy however for the food that was on offer.

BREAKFAST - Very nice. Cooked breakfast buffet offering plenty of choice along with continental options also.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view!

Great hotel. very good reception and lobby. Enough receptionists available for queries. A bit hard to find the parking through GPS though. Nice clean rooms and fresh feel to them. I would however try stay on higher floors because it can get noisy on the lower floors on weekend as Broad street has a lot of clubs and bars. I would recommend staying if room rate in the region of £50-70 range.

Jury's Inn is exactly what you would expect from an International business-style hotel. Clean, well-equipped, well-drilled staff etc, so you know what to expect. My room was equipped with two double beds and was very spacious (so is Premier Inn!). I was a bit disappointing to find toiletries in squeezy bottles rather than individually packaged items - economic but is it really up to the standard expected?
All in all a perfectly acceptable stay with one exception that increasingly galls me. When I have pad over £100 for a room, it's just not good enough these days to have to pay extra (£5 for one hour, £10 for a whole day) for internet access. I can get it free from McD's or walking around many city centres, so please stop ripping off your customers.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter - the hotel faces the main drag.

Arrived at 11pm and allocated room 430. It was really cold with a big bathroom with no radiator. There was a small heater on the wall in the bathroom that I switched in before going straight to bed. Woke up and the bathroom was still a bit cold.
Room was comfortable and functional. The only problem was the lift noise (think it was service lifts?) which were very noisy.
On this occasion did not eat but previously have and was fine.
Nice friendly staff and convenient for work. Price is excellent.

Jury's Inn is right in the centre of the city. Don't listen to your satnav but drive up Broad Street from the Five Ways roundabout, pass Jury's on the right and turn right into Gas Street. Follow the road round to Berkley street and you are led up a one way street to Jury's Inn car park (a paying car park right next to the hotel). Disabled parking was excellent, under cover, right by the back door and 24 hours cost £14.20 whereas in Oxford one hour can be £5.30!

Reception staff were pleasant, but one of the three key cards we requested would not work after multiple attempts.

The room (608) was large with good sized beds and two pillow each. There was a view over to Gas Street Basin.

We were there for my daughter's graduation and the ICC was only 5 minutes away.
My only grumbles were a continuously noisy lift shaft even though we were not that near the lifts and some black grouting round the bath. Two of the towels were slightly stained (although washed).

The wi-fi and wired network were expensive at £5 per hour (and could easily be free these days or a nominal daily charge). Luckily our mobile phones had great reception and there were telecom masts on the top of most large buildings so I imagine all providers had good coverage.

Our biggest grumble is the fact that the windows are sealed and after much playing and following instructions in the printed brochure for making adjustments, found that the aircon was set to automatic with a minimum of 20C. This got very stuffy in the night, especially as the aircon seemed to have switched off on its own and we could not have a quick blast of colder air to clear the room. We ended up putting the suitcase trolley in the door to keep it open!

Overall great location and comfy room but sealed windows, noisy lift and the aircon problem would make me go back to the Premier Inn or Novotel.

I chose Jury's Inn as it was the nearest to the ICC for an early morning start.

We paid £71 for room only for three adults.
