“Impressive and affordable but no free wifi”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

I stayed just one night at Jury's Inn and came away with a positive impression. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from New Street train station and is located on a street that has lots of bars and restaurants.

Don't be put off by the grey exterior. There is a very spacious lobby and I had a smooth check in from the efficient and friendly staff. So overall, first impressions were good.

The room was typical of what you get in a mid range hotel these days. Very clean with two doubles, tea/coffee making facilities and plenty of TV channels.

For me the bar area lacked atmosphere. Furnishing was uninteresting and lighting did not create a homely feel. This is something the management could improve. There are plenty of other options in the area if you want something different, although they are aimed at quite a young age group it seemed.

Very good cooked breakfast. Less impressed with the coffee and crossiants.

Free newspaper on departure is a nice touch.

Only major downside is that wifi internet was £10 per day. I don't understand why hotels persist in charging for internet access. Nowadays it's like charging for the shower in your room. For this reason alone I'd still look at other options in Birmingham on my next visit.

Stayed with 8 mates april 12th for 2 nights, found the whole weekend very enjoyable,it is very busy on a Saturday night, but you are rite in the heart of clubs, bars and restuarants......the rooms are usual standard but with 2 large double beds, very clean and fresh smell about the place, breakfast very busy but serves till 1100 am so plenty of time for eveyone, good fresh choice, with food trays filled regulary with hot food and kept hot on servers.......all staff we had contact with friendly and helpful, although busy area if you want a quiet night in the hotel bar no problem as well stocked and open till 0200 am,this is an ideal hotel for many reasons and although not in Birmingham often, would have no problem staying here if i was back.........

I stayed for 3 nights with my husband. The hotel is posh and clean although we were on the 12th floor and had draughty windows so I had to get an extra heater to keep warm. The bed was comfortable and the room was very nice. The food is delicious but if you want a vegetarian you have to ask for it. There is one thing that let's this hotel down and that is they don't do ROOM SERVICE. You order your food down stairs, they phone your room when it's ready then you have to go down and collect it your self. This isn't what I expect from a hotel. Lastly the staff are all extremely nice and helpfull.

Room Tip: The higher up your room the colder it is.

Hi, i stayed at this hotel last summer. i stayed here for one night as i was going to cadburys world with friends roughly 10 mins away. The location of the hotel is not very good if you're coming by car. The room was very clean, mattress was comfy and pillows were lumpy. breakfast was at an ok standard, not much choice! overall its good for a short stay, prices were adequate too.

Room Tip: try not to arrive with a car, (if possible) as car park(ing) is a big hassle!

Was here for business. Clean, spacious rooms, centre of town. Busy road in front of hotel, but no noise inside. Beds are comfy. Very good breakfast. Place to return! What else to report overhere?.......................................
