One of the best big screns ever nicely placed not too overpriced comfortable seats but you can easily get lost as the stair arrangments are a bit of a maze

“Great Cinema begrudge the parking fee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

I love the Giant Screen and we visit when we can for special occasions, the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the fact that having paid a good charge for the cinema (or ThinkTank that is also on this site the almost £4 charge to park is a bit of a turnoff x

if you like your movies then this is the place for you - can be quite pricey but having watched a number of films here I would highly recommend, especially 3D.

“Great to see something on a big screen!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

We went to the Giant Screen on Thurs Feb 14th, to see the newly released Die Hard (5th film) we were up in Birmingham for another appointment and thought this would be a good way of spending a couple of hours before driving back home again.

Due to the roadworks around the area it was a bit of an "experience" trying to get into the millenium point multi story car park and the postcode on the site for sat navs tries to take you down roads that are now pedestrianised. However, once in the car park, the cinema is literally across from the lift.

We went to the earlier showing at 5pm so it was very quiet, having booked online the night before. Online booking was simple and straightforward, although I don't think that the 75p booking fee is overly necessary and added an extra cost which is one of the things that our local Cineworld no longer does. However, prices were actually on par with our local cinema so don't agree that it is more expensive. Car parking for the 3 hours was £2.90 again, cheaper than 90% of the local car parks at home.

The cinema was clean and tidy, nice waiting area and friendly staff serving at the drinks counter, again prices were really reasonable and whereas at home we would be lucky to get a large drink and popcorn for £8 here we had popcorn, large drink, a bottle of drink as well as a family bag of chocolate for £7 - so very reasonable prices compared to a lot of other cinema chains!

We were in the back row of the non premium seats, and sat in the middle for the best view. Rather generous leg room, plenty of room to move around, although did miss the higher backed chairs that we get in our Cineworld. On saying that, the way the seats are stepped means you don't get any heads in the way (although why people insist on checking their phones and texting during a film I don't know - its really inconsiderate to those watching the film

We enjoyed watching this film on the size of screen, great action shots really were great to see, sound was also of a good quality. We certainly didn't find it "grainy", if anything, the subtitles at the very bottom were a little difficult to read because there was so much going on in the rest of the screen size . . .

We enjoyed it here, short visit, just for the film, but good value for parking, prices and service too. We'd definitely come again if we were up this way, but unsure if we would make the specific 50 minute each way journey.
