We called to book a table for a party of 10 and were told that as it was their carnival night, I.e. there would be some ladies dancing in costumes like in the famous Rio carnival. However there was mention of a change in menu or a change in price. When we got there at 7pm there were not that many people, but by 8 it had filled up. The hostess was friendly but a little over familiar. First of all the food was not that varied, aside from some salads the main dishes were really limited. The main dishes were also very lukewarm, it literally took only 5 minutes after dishing the food out for them to turn cold. The meat that was served fresh off the grill was the only thoroughly hot item on the whole menu. They had a variety which was nice and made for a whole new culinary adventure but the meat was not seasoned very well. It was only tasty when dipped in the sauces... At the end of the night when we were ready to pay, we were informed that because of the fact that it was a carnival night, the price was increased to £22.50. This was annoying because we could have been told earlier and moreover we did not even enjoy the dancing but were made to pay over 4 quid extra... Not good!
All in all a disappointment, in terms of food- I was really expecting something nice and different. If even the mains were hot, the experience may have been a bit better. Based on my experience, I'll stick with my normal Chinese buffets any day.

Took along a relative for his birthday midweek. Ok it was quiet, but the service was spot on (again). ANd the food was spot on (again). £19:50 is reasonable I feel to be absolutely stuffed and have to ask for mercy. He (24 years old) still refers to it as the best meal he's ever had. Go try it, you won't be disappointed.

I have never been to Brazil, but I have been to the great Fogo de Chao chain in the US, and also sampled steaks in Buenos Aires and South Africa. With that as the standard, I wondered how a Brazilian barbecue in Brum would stack up.
Wife and I ordered Caipirinhas based on fond memories of the drink served at Fogo de Chao in Miami and in DC. Made with sugarcane rum, the Brum version was authentic indeed, and we were happy to order repeats.
The hot buffet was decent, but the beef was clearly British. Sorry, not sledging the Brits, but the local stuff is nowhere close to the LatAm variety.
But before I become all snooty and patronising, let me state that a meal of 4 Caiprinhas, 1 buffet, 1 buffet with loads of steaks and a 10% tip all added up to a princely £50 (Fogo in the US would cost you double that, in £ that is).
So for the price, cannot crib. Treat it as you would treat Brummie Indian (Balti if you like) - fine in its own right, but not what you would get in India.
If you want the real beef, perhaps the closest restaurant would be in London - at Fogo like prices.

After having a very good experience here a few months ago, we decided to visit again with a few friends. After being shown to our table, we were left to wait, and wait. No one asked us if we had visited before, or if we knew how the Brazilian Restaurant operated. After booking a table with a high chair, we got to the table and there was no high chair. After asking three different staff, we eventually got one, and some drinks.

We ventured over to the salad bar and found plates and sat down. The meat then began coming to the table, which we were pleased about. However, the company boasts 27 different cuts of meat, and we were brought six, most of which were very overcooked, and the cheapest cuts to buy. We were then left, and no more food was brought to the table. We went over to where the meat was being cooked, and asked if we could be included again when meat was brought round to tables. Again it was a case of asking 3 different members of staff, as they did not speak English so they didn't understand. They said that they would bring more meat, and a variety, but all we saw was the same overcooked meat twice more, and we were left again.

A waitress came to the table about every half an hour asking if we had finished eating, and again, as her English was so limited, she did not appear to understand when we said, no, can you organise for us to have some more food brought over please. We ordered more drinks, and these were wrong when they were brought over. The waitresses didn't care and walked away.

The most efficient part of the evening was paying!

Very disappointed with a once very good restaurant. Overcooked food, and very poor service. Will be venturing elsewhere next time.

Great service and amazing food with plenty of choice of meats cooked in various spices and a good range on the salad bar. Excellent service - we were asked regularly if we wanted anything else and a free taster of BBQ pineapple for desert. We had a meal for 2, 2 glasses of wine and a pint of beer and 2 soft drinks for £55 and both think it was well worth the "Brazilian churrascaria" experience.
