We called to book a table for a party of 10 and were told that as it was their carnival night, I.e. there would be some ladies dancing in costumes like in the famous Rio carnival. However there was mention of a change in menu or a change in price. When we got there at 7pm there were not that many people, but by 8 it had filled up. The hostess was friendly but a little over familiar. First of all the food was not that varied, aside from some salads the main dishes were really limited. The main dishes were also very lukewarm, it literally took only 5 minutes after dishing the food out for them to turn cold. The meat that was served fresh off the grill was the only thoroughly hot item on the whole menu. They had a variety which was nice and made for a whole new culinary adventure but the meat was not seasoned very well. It was only tasty when dipped in the sauces... At the end of the night when we were ready to pay, we were informed that because of the fact that it was a carnival night, the price was increased to £22.50. This was annoying because we could have been told earlier and moreover we did not even enjoy the dancing but were made to pay over 4 quid extra... Not good!
All in all a disappointment, in terms of food- I was really expecting something nice and different. If even the mains were hot, the experience may have been a bit better. Based on my experience, I'll stick with my normal Chinese buffets any day.
