We (myself, wife and 13yr son) visited the Jewellery museum during the school half term whilst we were visiting The Pen Museum (free and within 10 mins walk....see Website......also very educational and entertaining) and found it very interesting especially the Smith and Pepper factory (Adult £5.00,Concession £4.00,Child up to 16 Free) conducted tour approx one hour.

The museum itself is not much, but the next-door office/workshop tour is well worth the entrance fee. After years of avoiding modernisation, it was locked up and closed in 1981, like a time capsule. Even left the pot of jam and the jar of marmite for the typists' toast. Tour guide was great fun and knowledgable, and the tour's based on interviews with people who actually worked there for decades; fascinating.

Been there for just a few minutes and seriously there's nothing much to see unless you pay for the extra to enter to watch some show? or history of the quarter.

You could spend a day in here, so much to see if you are into how they made jewelry. Glad some of our history has been kept.
