All Birmingham people who know the city centre will tell you that if you want a quiet more sophisticated drink or lunch and dinner out this is the place to head for.
Canal boats adorn the waters edge with every type of venue to eat and drink in .
Gas street gives you a little view in to the working history of my home city and to see swans and geese wild right in the heart of town gives you a smile.
If you are staying in the Hyatt ,Crown Plaza,Sas Raddison ,Jury's inn or any of the other hotels this place is five minuets walk away.
Leave the under 25s to the chaos of broad street and head here.
I hope this helps all in my home town city centre.

A nice walk for couples, at night it looks better since everything lights up :) it is cold so come with a nice jacket and gloves.

Other than the rubbish that sadly littered the water, we had a wonderful hour or so wandering along the tow paths. Due to the cold we took the canal bus, it was good value and told us some more of the history of the area

We had a map with a canal walk and chose to start it from here. Fascinating to see the boats and the buildings and infrastructure old and new. It was February with snow on the ground which made it all the more memorable. Not to be missed.
