Just a short walk outside the city centre, this place is worth a visit. Lots of unique units where you can shop for all sorts of things. Love the graffiti around this place too.

Overall this is a very different space to be in Birmingham and you either 'get it' or not.
Birds old Custard Factory has been regenerated into an arts media complex where in its upper stories are dozens of creative business' ranging from artists, sculptors and designers to architectural firms, creative production teams etc... these are not generally open to the public without appointment.
However on the ground floor are a wealth of innovative bars and independent shops offering what generally cannot be found elsewhere in Birmingham. From Ideal- Birmingham's first original skateboarding shop, selling boards as well as exclusive clothing lines, Graffiti Artist.com shop, selling highly qualitative paints, pens and materials for street artists to the Sara Preisler Gallery, a wonderful little jewellery store where you can buy exclusive pieces and see the artist working making jewellery while you visit. As well as shops there is an independent framers, a unique cinema with bar and lots of places to eat and drink.
This is a lifestyle place to visit, hangout and overall enjoy. Uniquely different from anywhere else in Birmingham, this is where the cool people hang out and I can't rate it highly enough!

A brilliant place to walk around for a couple of hours. Just a ten minute walk from Moor Street Station, theres a loads of independent businesses and artisan shops to browse as well as places to dine.
The former Birds custard factory is close to Old Crown in Digbeth and is well known for its many graffiti murals in surrounding streets. Many events are hosted here such as the Digbeth Dining Club, vintage fairs and graffiti festivals.
Also home to Ghetto Golf, Mockingbird Cinema, Baked in Brick and the Clean Kilo artisan shop.

I am so glad I walked through the custard factory this weekend as I found the most beautiful independent jewellery shop and gallery! The staff were so welcoming and all the jewellery was bespoke and most handmade by Sara in the studio just upstairs. I spoke with Sara in detail about commissioning a piece of jewellery for my partner for Christmas and she took the time to work with me and discuss the best way. She sketched some ideas and now I have a wonderful pair of bespoke earrings being made! A beautiful shop and excellent customer service, a trip here will not disappoint!
