Birmingham Town Hall host some really good events and well worth travelling into Brum for!
The events are varied (from organ recital - only £6 at lunchtime - to the Gruffalo),and are always supported by friendly and helpful staff. Parking is not provided but there are ample sites in the area. Look out for upcoming events - not to be regretted.

ok, so it was a little over a year since my visit but i have left reviews for longer than this before.
two adults, one male, one female attended a concert. not a raucous rock concert but a sit down concert. a concert with a mature age group mainly.

the venue itself is nice and the music hall was nice too. i have nothing bad to say about it.

but the security staff. oh my gawd. shockingly bad. if the venue now has new security, i apologise as i don't want to label them wrongly. but the staff who worked on the evening of our visit were not worthy of the job they were being paid to do.
bad attitudes from the start. not clever enough to answer simple questions. having little tiffs with each other.
and as for the mobile phone policing, it was ludicrously over the top. i saw nobody attempting to film a single second of the gig. i saw nobody using flash photography. speaking for ourselves, as parents with children at home who were being babysat and to add to this, we had to be back by a certain time. so we needed to check our phones in case there was a problem and also to see what the time was. it takes a couple of seconds to check the phone to see if there is a message box and to see the time but in those couple of seconds, security were on us as if we had started a fight! they then stood watching us for ages. then, one of them told one of their colleagues to watch us! Pointing at us while giving that instruction......seriously????
A 'female' member of the staff in particular was trying too hard and it rubbed off on some of the others. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. I did contact the venue after this but received no reply so I can only guess they no longer care if people never return which is a real shame as the venue is a great venue.

Fantastic venue for music in the centre of Birmingham. Oldest purpose built concert hall in the UK oozing history. Stunning on the outside as well as inside - well worth a look.

What an impressive venue. We have attended concerts there twice and thought it was even more attractive than several of the top London theatres. Accoustics are excellent. A delightful evening out.

Recently attended a comedy gig here inside what is one of (if not the) nicest building in Birmingham.

Recently refurbished to a high standard you would think this is The Royal Opera House. Even the comedian remarked it is the nicest venue he's ever played and he's played all over the globe.

There is ample leg too, DDA compliant.

Definitely worth a visit.
