Arrived at hotel after booking two days earlier. Young girls smiled then vanished to a few minutes. Came back and still smiling said "we have had a system error and overbooked so I am just booking you into another Hotel" . Many people checked in while I was standing there and she could not explain how they could have a room and not me. They got me a taxi and sent me down the motorway to Holiday Inn Express at Junction 10. OMG do not go near this hotel. They put me first into a disable room which is not a problem except it stunk of paint and when I went to the bathroom there was two used paint brushes in the bathroom sink. They then moved me to a smokers room which also stunk. The food which was only a few bar bits and pieces had stopped at 9.30 so I had no food at all after a long journey and they had no irons left so I had to attend a meeting the next day in an unironed shirt. Complaint is in progress.

i recently stayed here on the 10th sep with my partner and 2year old son for a weekend to drayton manor. The hotels reception area and bar were clean and modern and when i arrived in our room i was pleasantly suprised with all the bad reviews. We were on the 1st floor just a short walk from reception and room was clean and big enough for the three of us. Breakfast was also really nice, it is buffet style and they were always bringing out fresh food once things were running low, a great start to your day. All staff were really helpful and friendly too. The hotels bar was a but overpriced but they is harvester pub only a 5mins walk away which we really enjoyed. The hotel was a good base for drayton manor only being about 25mins drive away and the park itself was brilliant, our son had a great day. Overall hotel great value for money as we only paid £75 for all of us for 2nts incl breakfast. Good location, clean hotel and friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting drayton manor and i would definately return in the future.

I stayed here for one night on business. Good car parking with easy acess to reception area, checking in was easy and quick. The public areas are very pleasant and everywhere is very clean, although some minor attention to detail would not go amiss, I noticed several light bulbs were not working especially in the dining area, this tends to give the impression of "do we really care" . The room i was given was on the lower ground floor, very dingy unattractive corridors , all the room doors are painted in a matt finish the same colour as the walls and are covered in grubby hand marks, not the best impression. The room itself was spotlessly clean although didnt feel very warm at times. the bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows, The bathroom is very small and cramped although once again very clean. Just a few details to sort out , Overall not bad at all for the price, although i have stayed in much more modern surroundings for the same money. after reading the reviews for the dinner menu i decided not to take the chance so cant comment. Oh and i consider £4.50 for a pint of Bulmers Cider excessive.

Recently stayed here on business, while the public areas of this hotel are very nice the room tnat they gave me was a disgrace, shabby seating, scored - sratched- chipped furniture and headboard, tatty carpet, toilet that had rotting wood all around it and the mastic sealer filthy and peeling off everywhere. I have no doubts that there should be better rooms in the hotel but I can only comment on the dump they put me in. I did complain about the room but nothing has been done about it. Remember it is not cheap to stay in the Holiday Inn and the least you expect is a decent room. The hotel is a little out of the city centre and you will need a car to get there. Food is OK but pricey as is alcohol, a large glass of wine is a little under £6. I am a priority club member of Holiday Inn and have stayed in countless hotels of theirs but this room is by miles the worst !

Having looked around at local hotels to hold our wedding vow renewal ceremony we stumbled across the Holiday Inn Chapel Lane Birmingham and looked into their wedding package currently on offer. From the first contact with their Wedding Coordinator Elena to the end of our event we could not fault them. The hotel gave us the use of three rooms for our event, one to hold the ceremony in, one to hold the wedding breakfast in and one to hold the buffet, many other local hotels just give you the use of one room for the entire day. The hotel allowed us to have an early check in which was much appreciated and gave us a complimentary one night stay with champagne. They also gave our guests reduced rates also very much appreciated. The staff on the day namely Elena and Kabir were faultless along with all the catering staff and bar staff. Our food for the wedding breakfast was of a high quality from the starter to the main course and served professionally. We overran on the day with our timings and speeches but we were not hurried along at all by anyone as the room had to be cleaned out before the evening party commenced. Yes the bar prices are steep but you will get that at most hotels these days. The breakfast is of a high quality and the rooms clean and comfortable. One of our guests was disabled and also brought her dogs with her, her room had the biggest bathroom we have ever seen! Overall we had a fantastic Wedding Vow Renewal day, we have not received any negative feedback from any of our guests who either attended and stayed over or just attended on the day. A big thank you to all the staff who work at The Holiday Inn keep up the good work.

The reception and the room were extremely good but the bar and restaurant service were very poor and the food - even having sent it back once - was uneatable. We waited a good 15 minutes for the starter which were fishcakes, only to be told that they did not have any! By co-incidence we all (four of us) chose steak as the main course. This arrived 20 minutes later but it was impossible to cut. Having complained we waited another 15 minutes and the replacement steaks also were impossible to cut. This was an extremely embarrassing evening as we had two business associates with us. Having complained to the Duty Manager the next morning, who promised a rapid investigation and report, a week later we are still waiting!!

We stayed here for one night on a Park & Stay package. Room was spotlessly clean & totally silent which we found quite amazing as it is almost on the runway. Flat screen TV and every type of IT connection you could think off on the room desk. Had dinner in the restaurant which we found above average for a 'Chain Hotel'. Hotel has went through a major refurb recently and we found it excellent with great staff. Parking for airport was very good leaving car in hotel car park and taking shuttle bus which took about 7 minutes. return pick up went exactly as described. One small niggle, we did not get our early morning call that had been ordered but we think thatwas down to technical fault on a new system.
