This place is in a fantastic location. We stayed in one of the club rooms but they are a little disappointing for the cost, although we had a canal room view on the 22 floor so the view was good. What was really crap was the breakfast! Very poor with limited choice in the Regency Club room. To make matters a little poorer was that on check out we were charged for a bottle of water in the room. However the best part of the hotel was the concierge - especially Lee, as with any concierge - they can make any Hotel stay memorable - he certainly achieved this. Lee not only advised us where to go but what we should do in Birmingham. A fantastic ambassador for the area.

With Birmingham's other 4+ star establishments now showing their age (Malmaison, Hotel du Vin etc.), Hyatt is a reliable option albeit a slightly anonymous one. There are downsides - the parking is far away and a nuisance, and the bar lacks atmosphere, but it's safe and the rooms have outstanding views of the city. Staff are friendly and keen to help.

Rooms: great views, good bathrooms, comfortable beds, desk space, lounge chairs.

Watch out for a good rate - it's not worth paying more than £130-150 for a standard room.

We stayed here for two nights on a recent visit, initially we were disappointed with the rooms which were a little shabby and outdated but were subsequently offered more recently decorated rooms which were much nicer. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The check in was a little slow but the staff in general were pleasant. The location is good and within walking distance of shopping, restaurants etc. Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choices and service was very good. There is a charge for internet which I feel should be free as most hotels don't charge now. The bar was a little lacking in atmosphere but overall a nice hotel.

We had one night the four of us .The rooms were ok but needed a little TLC in places ,we were on the 18th floor and the views were great .But we have to recommend the door staff who were most helpful and friendly and were outstanding ! We were very impressed with Birmingham for the shopping and the Restaurants.but most of all we were impressed by how nice and helpful all the people we talked to were !

Really lovely hotel in a great spot for main Birmingham attractions.
Close to station, bullring and broad street and canal side.
Very comfortable newly refurbished rooms.
Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Bar lacked a bit of atmosphere but may have been due to it being a Sunday evening.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for excellent views

Clean, comfortable hotel. Nice touches in room such as slippers & torch. Torch is clearly provided because lighting in room is controlled by a touch pad next to bed which is impossible to reach out for and feel for correct sensor on flat touch pad in dark room at night!

Only negative: one evening there was no hot water in hotel rooms which meant I had to go down to spa in basement for a shower.
