“Disappointed”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Picked this due to proximity to Birmingham City football ground. Free parking a bonus and like the free wifi that Accor offer. Staff ok, gave us extra tea, milk and an additional pillow. Had a good night's sleep. However, disappointed they didn't do food either lunchtime or in the evening. Tbh had we known this wouldn't have stayed and this will certainly influence our choice in future. One other issue was the toilet would not flush properly , as we were only staying the one night and going elsewhere to dine did not report this until checkout so perhaps unfair but would expect a working toilet in any room I stayed in as a minimum.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 203 which faced the main road (which was noisy) but for saying that we both had a...

Stayed for 2 nights in October 2013, single. Safe, gated parking was a bonus. Clean, friendly hotel overall, fine room with ensuite. Very close to Birmingham City football grounds, that may be a bonus or a problem on match day, depending if you're supporter or disturb by the crowd! Small hick-up - ordered a taxi at 7 am, was woken up by receptionist at 5 am saying the taxi is waiting!. explained that it should be there at 7, and unfortunately it was late and took couple of calls to get it right. overall, would stay again due to good value for money and location that was car friendly

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in April 2014. The reviews had been mixed and we were expecting something good, basic, budget... but not great. £173 for 2 people bed and breakfast for 4 nights is a pretty amazing deal, and unfortunately about as much as we could afford to spend on accommodation for an Easter break (long distance relationships take their toll on your bank balance).

However, we were pleasantly surprised at the very least. With staying longer than many people stay at a budget hotel (they're usually one-night places to crash, it would seem), I feel like we got a very rounded experience and a good general impression of the hotel. It was clean, the staff were amazingly friendly and couldn't have been more helpful, the breakfast was brilliant (okay, the bacon and sausage could have done with a little more browning/crisping in my opinion, but that is personal preference and my boyfriend didn't have a problem 'cleaning them up' for me) with the continental choice in particular being enjoyed by us both. The room was spacious enough to be comfortable for 2 for several nights and held the belongings of an average girl and a guy who likes to shop without space issues, the shower was roomy (although the temperature was a little in and out) and although the décor is a little dated everywhere but the lobby, it was a very pleasant space to share. Not to mention the bed being AMAZING.

There are a few niggles, such as the TV having to be intrusively loud before you can make out the words of those on-screen, the shower temperature, anaemic meat, etc., but at the end of the day, to complain about them would be nit-picking, because at this price (an average of £21.63 per person per night for room and breakfast), you've got unrealistic expectations if you complain.

This place was a bit unexpected in quite a few ways.. Pulling up in the carpark you are greeted with what appears to be quite a 'modern' and comfortable place to stay. You walk to the reception and are greeted by the staff who are friendly enough, however didn't seem too interested in engaging in small talk. The biggest let down (for me) was what met me after walking from the reception to my room. I can only compare this place with an 80's public swimming baths.. Cold, unloved, artex walls, an old green carpet with red flowers, a foisty smell and the room was just as bad. Extremely small, a bathroom that looks like it has been taken straight out of a caravan with plastic cladded walls and barely enough room to swing a towel. I was only here for one night but to be honest? I didn't feel safe and therefore would not recommend this place!

Stayed at this hotel for a work trip, the hotel is clean and staff are nice. The only thing that lets it down is the price of food and drinks plus the location, there is nothing really local. You can walk about a mile to a nice pub but the journey is pretty dangerous as there are no proper crossings.
