“Expert advice on hand”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

The new history galleries at BMAG offer short guided tours which give you access to the excellent and well informed staff of the museum. We joined an "Introduction to Victorian Birmingham" which cost just £2 and lasted an hour. Our guide was an expert on the period and really opened our eyes to some of the history of our own city. Whether you are a visitor to Birmingham or a local, a tour like this is a real gem.

“Brilliant, stunning works of art by Cox etc & historical artefacts”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

Brilliant art, brilliant displays.Brilliant ceramics.
Ok museum is not like the British Museum but it gives a snap shot of history.

Some works of art are masterpieces, eg Cox for British Landscape painters and Leader I think it is. He has a massive picture in circular hall lobby as you enter, one my my favourites.

It is central to Birmingham, to library, shops, even between clubs! So no excuse not to visit when in Birmingham.

So get a bit of education (easy) on your trip and feel you have done the cultural thing.

“Wonderful facility”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

Stunning spaces and the artworks well-displayed. Some very unusual items on display - don't just go for the paintings. Great teashop/restaurant too! Very well worth a visit. Look out for the friendly Anglo-Saxon at the Staffordshire Hoard.
