“really pleased!”

I'd never stayed in a Premier Inn before so didn't know what to expect. The welcome from June was excellent and my room was ideal - clean, quiet and amazingly (and unnecessarily) with a choice of pillows. Breakfast staff were helpful and very caring of other guests with young children or other needs.
So - highly recommended.

This was an excellent hotel. Friendly, efficient, well located and clean. we paid only 19 pounds for a room, but I would have happily paid three times as much.Right in the city centre and transport comfy beds.Highly Recommended.

Arrived to be faced with 3 'check in' screens with a screechy "receptionist" barking instructions at me and another poor soul trying to check in. Left to our own devices, we could have done it but we were obviously being hurried up (think packed reception area and conseqent mayhem!) Got to the room and found it chilly - now there is NO instruction to contact reception by pressing 0 (zero) on phone but instead told to ring an 0871 number (at 10p a minute) - couldn't get a response so tried pressing 0 and hey presto got a reply - PLEASE people remember this as its such a rip off having to 'ring in'. Receptionist (same one) came up to room and said the temperature was okay as far as she was concerned - excuse me??? isn't the customer the one to say if they are cold or not.
The automatic check in asked if you wanted papers the next morning - we did - and asked for 2. No sign of them the next morning so when we went out at 10.00am, we saw them lying behind the reception desk. The receptionist said 'oh yes, they're yours but we've no staff to deliver them to the room' ??? So WHY ask your guests if they want this service if they can't deliver it?? Mind boggling.
several of our friends were also staying here and we were looking forward to meeting up in the bar after the gig at the Town Hall - but were told in no uncertain terms that the bar closed at 11.00pm - no matter if you were residents (I guess its a staff issue again)
So they've ripped out any service that requires people to deliver it and in so doing have made this a type of hotel that you can actually stay and NEVER have to interact with a real person - sheesh!
Oh where for the days of the warm receptionist, asking how your journey was, can they do anything for you? Obviously Premier Inn are doing away with all of this. Such a shame as the room itself was fine and we slept well - perhaps I just expect a modicum of service?

The policy of Premier Inn to offer great discounts for early birds is an excellent way of getting a VFM trip out, being spoilt I (because of where I live) have within 55minutes by train three of the UKs top city centres Manchester, Liverpool & Birmingham. I have to say in the last three four years Birmingham has gone from OK for a few hours to an excellent weekend away venue. The Premier does exactley what I expect of Premier great nights kip in a very comfortable bed, in a spotless room. We had (after a nice walk round the area) a very good meal in the on site venue which now serves hand pulled bitter which for an old grump like me is truely fabulous food is good value, and for a budget chain the staff are very attentive and those at Waterloo St are a credit. Usual after thought about any trip is ask the two questions 1, would you use this hotel again? YES 2, would you recommend to a friend or family? YES.

Room Tip: If you stay on a Friday or Saturday expect a few hens and stags, but after a nice meal and a couple...

Not posh. No gym. No frills. But this hotel is exactly what you want in a vibrant city centre like Birmingham.
The room was fine with everything you could need (a few too many brochures and labels including instructions on how to choose a pillow...in fairness there was a good pillow choice). It was a Monday night so barley any street noise though I wouldn't fancy a Friday or Saturday night so close to the streets.
I passed on breakfast but others really enjoyed it and it looked great.
Well done Premier, you did it again at such great value.

Stayed in this premier inn for a weekend just before Christmas and what a fabulous time we had. The hotel is so central-we could do some shopping , drop off our bags and get back out there to so some more! The best bit of all was the outdoor Christmas market - enjoyed our evening there with bratwurst and gluwein followed by some delicious crepes-with plenty of traditional music you really really feel as though you're in Germany! The breakfast the following morning was tasty, especially as the hotel is just opposite the cathedral and it was lovely to hear the morning bells. Will definitely go next year again-Birmingham has improved so much with loads of fab shops like Selfridges etc. Of course, as you would expect from Premier Inn, the room was extremely good value for a family of four like us and children have breakfast for free.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay at the Premier Inn as my train was very delayed and so I abandoned the trip.

Premier Inn in their lack of wisdom about how to look after customers have refused to give me a refund despite these clearly being circumstances out of my control.

Joyfully I was then sent an email asking me to complete a survey about my stay. I would have little faith in a hotel company that did not even realised that I did not stay there.
