“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Stayed here for one night recently and found it to be a fine night. The location is excellent for central Birmingham, the staff encountered were friendly, the bed was large and the room clean although a little oddly shaped. I appreciated the pre-arrival phone call and text to check for any special requirements and restaurant bookings. The price for the night was £29 excluding breakfast which was good value too. Would happily return.

This Premier Inn is ideally located for central Birmingham.
Within walking distance of theatres (we went to the Symphony Hall) shopping centres and New Street Railway Station.
The accommodation is first class and the staff of a most pleasant and helpful disposition.
We had breakfast in the restaurant which was great value with a wide range of options on offer.
Overall this is a well run, clean and of a high standard in all areas which is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Lower floors overlooking the Cathedral.

My daughters and I stayed here 26th-28th October as a base for a concert in the o2 academy.
Simple check in,very helpful staff at reception (loved the Halloween costumes!) and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
The hotel is situated in a nice safe area, close to the main railway station and the great shops, just a few minutes walk away.
Our room was perfect, clean and tidy, and we definitely slept well in the very comfy beds! Breakfast in the colmore bar was great, our waitress (I think her name was Sheila)was the most friendly person, and a credit to the hotel staff!
We had a wonderful time, lovely hotel, and great city! We can't wait to come back!

Stayed last weekend. Booked via booking.com who didn't pass on correct info to hotel. Hotel was full but staff went out of their way to sort us another room. Arrived at restaurant few minutes before closing but they made us welcome and ensured we got food. Food was lovely. Breakfast great. Room fine, extra pillows provided when we asked. Read a report before we went saying room was cold. There is a thermostat on the wall so you can choose how warm or cold room is so not sure why they didn't use this. Location is great, close to city centre. I really cannot fault this hotel or its staff, would definitely stay again.

Nice modern hotel located within walking distance of town hall. Friendly reception staff. My room was clean and very comfortable. Only thing lacking was an alarm clock / wakeup call. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this Premier Inn for one night after attending a gig at Symphony Hall at the ICC which was about a ten minute walk away.

You've seen the commercials on TV, well thats what you get. A nice clean room, a really large and comfortable bed, with clean linen and a choice of pillows ( firm or soft or both if thats what you prefer), a hospitality tray with tea and coffee, plenty of sockets for all you might want to plug in, a 'proper' hairdryer ( not like some which are akin to a baby breathing gently on your hair...) and an illuminated vanity mirror with a socket right by it for plugging in your straighteners!

The bathroom was clean, spacious and has soap and shower gel in dispensers adjacent to the sink and bath.

Premier Inns promise a good nights sleep and everything is geared towards ensuring this happens - from the soft carpetting in the corridors, to the doouble glazing and black out curtains, and the security locks on doors along the corridor ensuring that only guests can access the accomodation area and not just people who might wish to wander into the hotel. There are signs on these doors reminding guests to respect the peace and quiet of other sleeping guests.

There is an express check in where you can obtain room key cards from an automated machine and all of the information you need is given on a slip of paper when your key cards are dispensed. Alternatively, there is a human on hand to check you in if you prefer.

Breakfast is extra at this hotel, and at £8.25 for an 'all you can eat'' buffet breakfast was very good value. In fact, when we went to the restaurant after a brilliant nights sleep, we were advised that the hot food had been removed from the buffet area as it had been out since the restaurant opened ( think its served between 6.30 and 10.30am on weekdays) and was getting 'tired' but that they would prep whatever we wanted in the kitchen.

The cooked breakfast is excellent value, ( was more than we could eat!) and there is a choice of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, breads ( toast yourself) juices and tea or coffee.

We could not fault the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness, the value or the location - all were excellent and we would highly recommend for anyone looking for a city break.

Room Tip: they really are all the same
