This is a great place to visit. Only found out about it by word of mouth from a friend. The house is great so much history to it - great gardens and greenhouses - all well stocked. Tearoom was busy but served good food and all the staff were very pleasant and seemed like they enjoyed doing their job. Location is good. Will visit again.

We went on the train to the university station and walked down. Using our Historic Houses Association membership cards we gained free admission. Although it is autumn the garden was beautiful; there were a number of photographers looking for good shots.

After the garden we browsed in the shop before going for lunch in the sunshine on the terrace. Brilliant. A really good trip out.

I used to go here at least 3 or 4 times a year. Mainly to go to the excellent tea room but sometimes to stroll in the peaceful gardens. You used to be able to use the tea room without paying to see the house or garden. When I went on 10/10 I was turned away seemingly you now must buy a ticket to use the tea room. So I will not be retuning, sale lost!

Before we made the change in procedure in January 2013 the tea room was often full and, due to its small size, it was unable to cater for the 50,000 + visitors we have each year. We wanted to ensure paying visitors to the house and garden had the chance to enjoy the tea room facilities.

No change is ever easy for a site as popular as Winterbourne, and we knew that for a small group of visitors who only used to visit us as a catering outlet, that this would be a difficult transition, but I hope in light of the above it will help to explain our reasons for the change. The vast majority of visitors who previously used the tea room on a regular basis and visited the house and garden as part of their trip, have now joined the membership scheme as it offers such exceptional value for money.

We always welcome feedback, so I thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you will be back soon.

Did not even know this place existed until recently. House very interesting, gardens & greenhouses a joy to walk around in with wide majority and interesting range of planting. Tea room also excellent.

Minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Birmingham is this wonderfully restored Arts and Crafts style house, catering perfectly for visitors. A delightful garden and a reasonably priced tea room adds to the overall appeal. Would definitely recommend.
