Great show with some really neat scenery/lighting, and of course the "animals" are very clever puppetry. Theatre is well-organised in terms of bar access etc

The hippodrome is a brilliant place to enjoy a wide variety of performances. Although it's rather pricey, especially when it comes to small things like ice cream or a coke. However, this is a theatre after all.

I've enjoyed every single performance so far and will definitely be returning for more

I went to see the loin king on Saturday evening and I must say the show was very very good, but The seats were very uncomfortable you have no room to move as you are that tightly pack in we were seated the top ring and it was very warm and because you are that tightly packed in it was very uncomfortable ,
As I have said the show was excellent but do not go on the hotties day of the year or sit in the top ring.

We visited the Hippodrome on Saturday to see the Lion King, it was our first ever visit to the Hippodrome and started off well. It was a blazingly hot night but the foyer and bar area were wonderfully cool, the aircon obviously doing it's job. The whole theatre is really well done out and much nicer than a lot of theatres. Upon entering the auditorium though we were hit by the heat, either the main auditorium isn't airconditioned which I find hard to believe or they didn't have it set right. Despite only wearing shorts and a t-shirt I was uncomfortably hot throughout the whole performance to the point of actually becoming sticky and sweaty, god knows what was going on with the aircon as at the interval we returned to the bar area and it was wonderfully cool in there. The show was great and wasn't ruined by the heat but it's something they need to sort out for the future.

I've been watching shows at The Birmingham Hippodrome for 35 years and its a great place and has fantastic shows on. However, The Lion King was, without a shadow of a doubt, the best show I've ever seen!!!! If you get a chance it's a show which must NOT BE MISSED!!! I cried, I laughed, I smiled, I frowned, I applauded and I was mesmerised by what unfolded before my eyes. 100% recommended
