“Second visit to the phantom”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

I was lucky enough to see this show for the second time yesterday afternoon. It was just as brilliant as the first time I watched it . amazing singing and acting. The staff at the hippodrome were very professional and friendly. I left the theatre without my coat at the end of the performance, ,panicking I rushed back inside and the staff had it waiting for me .Thank you for a great day out .

“Not for us”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

I'd seen Phantom so knew what to expect, husband hadn't, struggled with hearing quiet bits & speech especially second half. Thought it was compensating for poor male voices, especially Raoul. Female lead very good. We were underwhelmed & wished we had saved our money & listened to the cd. Love hippodrome however.

“A real pleasure to visit”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

Went to see Phantom of the Opera which is the most fantastic show after its revamp. However, this is about the venue! This was the forst time we had visited since the make-over of the theatre and its new stage - absoloutely stunning. The new airy reception is fantastic and so much easier to negotiate. The feeling of space is fantastic, the bars nice albeit pricey - but tell me any thestre that isnt! Lift for ones not so steady on their feet, lovely staff - it was a real pleasure to be in the building. Toilets are superb and very very clean and hygenic.

“Phantom of the Opera”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

I went to see this show at the Birmingham Hippodrome with some friends.

The show is a must has been spared see show, no expence been spared to put this show on.

The theatre is really nice place to see a show. nice large stage and has not been updated. the foyer is very modern though.
The drinks here are expensive, two small cokes, one small beer, two wines and a G and T came to £24, this was a bit of a shock.

“Excellent visit”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

This was our first visit to the Hippodrome. Compared to other theatres in other towns where we have lived, it is bright and spacious, efficiently run and not like a sauna once inside! We pre ordered drinks for the interval and instead of the usual scrum, there was plenty of room to collect them and then sit or stand. The staff seemed cheerful and helpful and we shall return soon. The performance of Phantom was not bad either!
