“Excellent food”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

This place is not what we expected. It has to be the smallest Michelin starred restaurant in the UK. This however is not a disadvantage - quite the opposite. It is very intimate without giving you feeling that you are on top of each other and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Unlike some restaurants there was no pretentiousness to be found whatsoever. We had gone for the 10 course taster menu and weren't disappointed. The menu was left on the table in order that we could see what was to come and as each dish arrived we were given a description by the waiting staff. As you would expect with a taster menu, the portion size was not huge, but after 10 courses you will not feel hungry let me assure you. The food was beautiful, both in taste and presentation and there was not one course that did not get eaten. The only downside was the amount of time it took. At three and a half hours it did take longer than we had expected. I am certainly likely to return however.

“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

My Son and Daughter in law bought us a meal at this Restaurant for my 60th birthday. 1st impression was what... the restaurant is set in a shopping parade and is just a converted modern retail unit and looks nothing from the outside. Once you pass through the doors that all changes, the decor is opulant, the staff profesional and friendly and the food is fantastic. Would recomend this place to anyone who enjoys fine dining, it has a Michelin Star and deserves it..

“Rates amongst the best in the UK”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

If you like a taster menu of surprises and taste bud delights with visual engagement then Turners is for you. If you want soup, steak and figgy pudding don't bother. The whole menu is a treat but the service is engaging, informative and friendly. I shall never see celeriac again in the same light - the variations as delivered were immaculate, tasteful and surprising - just watch the salt crust being cracked open and you will wonder at what is about to be delivered. I like the smart but intimate atmosphere and there is a sense of occasion from arrival to departure. It was nice to see le chef lui-meme to arrive and deliver an element of one course - unexpected but engaging. If you want great cooking - go!

“Finest dining in Birmingham”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Delicious food but the presentation, ambiance, service, variety and sheer scale of the meal is what has made this the best meal ever enjoyed in Birmingham. We were lucky to book just a few days in advance with a opportunistic cancellation. Highly recommend for a very special night out. However, beware late night drinkers, nothing is on the house here! Our post-dinner drinks ended up costing nearly more than the meal!
