My Wife and I picked Ten Ichi as it was close to the Hippodrome Theatre we were going to that evening, and It was a great choice.
We were made to feel genuinely welcome as soon as we went inside. The waitress was very polite and attentive without overdoing it, she offered to explain the menu and choice of dishes in case we were unsure of the Japanese food. We decided to eat as we would often do in Japan by ordering individual dishes, almost like you would with tapas, sharing and trying while drinking really nice Japanese beers.
The food was tremendous, not huge portions but its all about taste and experiences not stuffing yourself with sausage and mash.
The staff were all great, and you felt they really wanted you to have a great experience. This was one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to this side of Tokyo and they made our evening perfect.
Thank you I will certainly come again next time I'm in Birmingham.
