Description: With the rich surroundings of Birminghams Jewellery Quarter as its backdrop, The Vaults is among the citys most celebrated restaurants. Set below a Victorian building one might expect gloom, but this restaurant is utterly contemporary, comfortable and light. Panton S chairs and seriously arty photography show an eye for design and style while brick arches furnished with sofas provide cosy spaces for romantic cocktails or swapping gossip. Headed up by Keith Brown, who comes via Bank and The Jam House, the kitchen provides a stunning British and European menu reliant on local, fresh and quality produce and simple, sympathetic and unfussy techniques. An impressive selection of wines and champagnes are the icing on The Vaults extremely tempting cake.

Very high quality food, absolutely tasty and presented beautifully.

Staff were great and really helped us suprise our friend as we were holding a suprise birthday party there.

The establishment is very chic and different, loads of exposed brick which gives the place character.

Class!!

As a group of girl friends we wanted somewhere to eat and drink without being hassled. The vaults had it all, the food was excellent (great portion size) and staff accommodating. We hired a booth for after the meal which had comfy seats, waitress service and allowed us some privacy whilst still being able to partake in the bar atmosphere. Wouldn't come here for a romantic night but certainly would visit again with friends

This is a fairly new place.. and a welcome haven in the Jewellery Quarter. Usually uncrowded, calm and relaxed, is complimented with some simple funky furniture and clean and uncluttered style. This is one of the few places in the Jewellry quarter where you can order a Vodka Martini and they will know what that is.. and ask how you want it made.. and at a reasonable prices as well.
The restaurant serves mostly french/spanish and it all seemed cooked fresh and original. I've only eaten from the Tapas menu, which is more like a sampler menu. But everything was delicious.
Service was discreet and unrushed.. I felt taken care of.. Probably my favourite place in the Quarter for a drink.

First visit to the vaults to eat, food was very nice , the service was terrible. There were four people in our party! the oldest being in his 60s. The whole service was very rushed, the table service was rude, it felt like they wanted to hurry us up and get us out and it wasn'nt even late. the older member of our party felt intimidated, he felt the service was bad because of him because maybe he didnt fit the image of the place. The booths are all opposite the kitchen and it was very noisy. There was no ambience, the picture on their webite is decieving, I did ask the waitress as i was expecting a large dinning area and not a booth infront of the noisy kitchen where we had a lovely view of staff washing up ! I wouldnt go back and waste my money there, I'm sure I can find a nicer place to spend my £30 !! Because thats what it flt like, the just wanted the money !

A good atmosphere with crypt like cubicles you can curtain off (if you are unsociable). Not a huge place so is intimate and classy. Service was excellent and the barlady had a little dance with us too.
