Description: The Anchor Inn is a pub with a restaurant area serving traditional pub food and a specials board and also stocking local ales/beers. It has an outside beer garden in the summer & warm & cosy wood burning stoves in the winter. Great location just off the M40, the pub is popular with locals and visitors to the area being centrally located. With three hotels situated closely, its a perfect stop off for business people stopping over.

Met with Friends for a reminisce and feed. This Pub is a stalwart for good beer and food and always popular any day of the week.
I had the steak and ale pie and although I fundamentally disagree that a puff pastry top placed on a ceramic bowl of meat and gravy should be called "pie" it never the less tasted lovely. Loads of chunky melt in your mouth meat in a dark tasty gravy with chunky golden chips, so much I was unable to finish it. all washed down with an excellent pint of Bass. Once again this Pub did n't disappoint.

Been here many times and our latest recent meal confirmed standards are as high as ever. Very popular place, and sometimes very crowded but friendly service and good atmosphere. Game Pie and Steak and Ale Pie were delicious, served with very nice vegetables, fair selection of beers and a good wine list. Bright and pleasant restaurant with plentiful parking spaces at the back. To be recommended.

Dinner for five, Sat 29 Sep 13. Our first visit to the only pub in Leek Wootton and with food. Walking distance from where we were staying with friends. Nothing exceptional expected however ......!! Greeted by hugely enthusiastic staff who were very courteous, friendly, stylish, helpful and attentive. They went to great lengths to explain menu nuances and took down our requests with precision - obviously well trained. This resulted in everyone receiving exactly what was ordered (we all asked for minor variances to the meals on the menu). The food was excellent, evidently prepared to order given our amendments. It was hot and all arrived in perfect unison. Very tasty, very well presented. Tables were attended by the number of staff needed to get it right. The great thing - this was a village pub; the menu was extensive (inc veggy), with a wide choice of both wine and champagne and all very sensibly priced. It had to be Moet, my wife was celebrating breaking the news of a new job!! And the Guinness was cold and smooth. The Anchor Inn was full, so if you try it, which I thoroughly recommend - book a table online and check out the menu, which is also supplemented with 'specials of the day'. You will not be disappointed and finally we were not hassled or set a time limit. In all, a marvellous place. Congratulations to the Landlord/Landlady (didn't get names) but also a special thanks to the chef(s) and staff. A brilliant atmosphere, wide choice of beers and ales, in a smart, clean environment. LATEST BREAKING NEWS; so we gathered, is that Daniel Craig (James Bond) is looking to buy in the village and has been viewing properties! As it's the only pub there, you never know who you might be sat or stood next to in the future .............?? Give it a try.

Great pub grub and generous portions! Loved the idea of a giant filled yorkshire pudding as you dont get that in many places!
