Met with Friends for a reminisce and feed. This Pub is a stalwart for good beer and food and always popular any day of the week.
I had the steak and ale pie and although I fundamentally disagree that a puff pastry top placed on a ceramic bowl of meat and gravy should be called "pie" it never the less tasted lovely. Loads of chunky melt in your mouth meat in a dark tasty gravy with chunky golden chips, so much I was unable to finish it. all washed down with an excellent pint of Bass. Once again this Pub did n't disappoint.
