Went here for a work Xmas meal with 9 other people, having not gone to the Saxon Mill before. It's set in a lovely place by a canal and I imagine in summer I'll be doing a return visit on a weekend for a drink!
The atmosphere inside was nice, nothing particularly special, but better than the bog standard pub. The food was lovely, with nobody having any complaints over any of the three courses - I'd definitely return for the food.
The thing that let Saxon Mill down for me, was the service. They took an incredibly long time to bring food and the gaps between courses verged on irritating. The girls themselves were lovely, couldn't fault them.
As mentioned, I'll return in summer to see how it is then..
